There is a world all around us that lies unseen.
Felix Price embodies the Urban Avatar to bring through his practices & paintings his visions from the other realms.
FELIX’S BIO
From a young age, south london artist, Felix Price was always drawing patterns without really understanding what they meant. He became a student at the Slade School of Art as way to understand what was coming through in his artwork. However, the deepest realisation came through plant ceremonies in the Amazon where the origins of the patterns were revealed. These were so profound that it spontaneously sent him off on a search for understandings that could help him remain in that state of connection. This search would take him around the world, spending long periods of time living in the Amazon in Peru, Bolivia and Brazil as well as Africa and India.
The experiences of living with shamans in the Amazon, has guided Felix’s spirituality and artwork. His work today breaths rhythms and patterns. He often paints in an autonomous manner, letting the paint create shapes, symbols, textures and layers of geometry and abstraction. “I recreate my visions, abstractly, to convey the essence, the feeling of the visionary state.” he says.
UAMSA - URBAN AVATAR MIXED SPIRITUAL ARTS
Felix has gained further understanding of spirituality through the “Mixed Spiritual Arts”. This involves anything from yoga and meditation to plant ceremonies and the martial disciplines. Teaching yoga, mindfulness, calisthenics and a student of martial arts, he is developing the framework for the ‘Urban Avatar’*. He explores ways in which physical and spiritual balance can be developed through exercise, breath and the manipulation of the body.
‘Through the intelligent use various techniques, the filters can be withdrawn and we can become aware of the wider spectrum of reality.” Felix is one of the increasing voices of something profound and much bigger than what we normally perceive. His down to earth and approachable skills and practices speak consciously and unconsciously to everyone of us in regular busy life. His work is a surface in which we can reflect maybe our own personal questions around spirituality.
‘Urban Avatar’ - A person that is developing a holistic, sustainable and integrated lifestyle within the hustle and bustle of the cities.
Felix wants to offer the modern City dweller a platform to enable a deeper, sustained connection with the divine forces that can be integrated successfully into his/her hectic and busy lifestyle. This will allow for a personal shift in frequency and ultimately a shift in his or her relationship to the wider community, ultimately impacting the social fabrics of society.
