OMG that is amazing. U R indeed the stitch and pattern converter in chief. I would never have thought that a hat could be made from that stitch pattern. It's genius. I now have the urge to make one - in purple! < Round of applause -Fiber Spider> I am a hat person - my GM bought me a fairisle wool beret when I was 4 yrs old and I was hooked on hats ever since.

I sure hope you, had better luck than I did! I can’t figure out, whether he’s making all the scales w bpdcr, or is he alternating front & back? I feel like it should all be on the front, but after 5 times attempting this, I just tossed my crocheting hook, across the rec rm! 🤷🏼‍♀️ I really want to figure this one out!..Have you figured it out? Thanks!..

I just finished making this hat, and I love it. I made it in the Mandala turquoise ombre'. It was so easy to make, and I could follow you easily. I have made several scarves using the crocodile stitch, but I've had to waste lots of time trying to figure out the pattern. Thanks for taking the time to post this tutorial.

My first thought was a crown. Use a "normal color for hair" and crochet a smooth top of the hat! Then two rows of the crocodile stitch in "gold" and the last 3 rows in the gold i think would really make it look like a crown. Then I thought about using a muted green and it made me think of an artichoke! lol A very impressive project no matter how you look at it. I'm going to try make it using my hair idea in dc and then the gold crown.

I love it SO much, but i’m working on one now and something is wrong; I have followed your tutorial, but mine is becoming small like it is in a size which would be more fit for a kid 👀🤔 The yarn i use is for a size 2.5 hook, can that be the reason for my small hat 👀🤷🏻‍♀️Please be nice if some of you respond to my comment, cause i’m a newbie in doing crochet, so i don’t know so much about it all 😌

Wow! I’m so confused! Does anyone know, does he make a back post double, after a set on f 5, front post doubles, for the very first, & second stitch? 🤷🏼‍♀️ That’s where I’m stuck, & I’m not a beginner, I am dyslexic though, so maybe that’s the problem! I’ve watched this about 8 times now, & just can’t follow the second stitch! Thanx!..✌🏼🇨🇦

I think you are right in a way. If I'm seeing it right, it's not worked in continuous rounds as some of his other hats are. If the foundation row is worked "counter-clockwise," the scale row is worked "clockwise."
