Great video bud. My wife gives me a hard time too about wearing my good shoes when doing stuff like this. Thanks for posting this.

Well if barsleak doesn't help me out ? I'm facing this myself in my 88' F150. I got here looking for an idea on how many man hrs to do it . Any chance you would share the time it took ?

@@shawnfreeoftyranny8849 I did it in two days, taking my time. If it was my only means of transportation I could have done it in a day no problem. I painted my block and everything while I had it down.

On the end cylinder of that head gasket i see a black spot on that fire ring? Is that fire ring split? Or is it just greese spot? Also when u lifted that head off of the engine Hulk, i would have loosend or removed completely your rocker arms that way u could remove your pushrods & gotten them out the way. U will want them out the way when u put the head back on. They are fine. Its ok if u mix them up. Some say dont but i always do & i never have had a problem. U just dont want to mix up ur lifters is all. And oh by the way, nice gloves Sally! Glad to see ur keeping those hands baby soft. Hate to see break a nail. Lol!

Ok also, very end of the video u showed the bottom side of your head. Second to the end cylinder, I see a mark on the quench pad (the flat part of the combustion chamber that is machined even with the deck of the head) kinda pointing downward toward the exhoust valve? It might just be a smudge but look closely at all the cylinders right in that erea im speaking of. Those heads somtimes will crack right there. Especially if they have been over heated. I had one that I over heated badly & the head was cracked in that same spot on 4 out of the 6 cylinders. Only the outer 2 cylinders wasn't cracked on that head. So inspect closely.

Best comment ever haha. Yeah this was definitely an experience and a learning one. I definitely would take off intake and manifolds next time bout broke me back haha. I thought I was destroyed when I I heard something fall. It was one of the pushrods. I hadn’t even considered them when taking off the head. I’ve had it back together for awhile now and so far so good. Maybe the old 300 is just tuff enuff to forgive my average mechanical skills lol. Hopefully u subscribed after all that typing?? God bless ya friend!!

With headers, a 4 barrel, an intake manifold and better ignition how much of a power increase have you seen? I’m working my way toward pretty much this exact same build so I’m curious.

@@supaheat1486 sry for the slow response I’ve overlooked ur comment. My engine ran like crap until I did all the upgrades. It’s still a 300 lol. But has way more power than stock and even better mpg.

@@1RAMPAGExMASTER4 there’s some great groups on facebook for the 300. They have a wealth of knowledge. I think they just plug those holes up but I’m not 💯 on it.

@jeffreyrigged I don't think it's a bad idea. I just think if it was mine I would reuse the originals. If he had higher compression I think it would become more important? I could be wrong with that idea? I reused mine.
