Welcome to Part 1 of this coloured pencil, step by step tutorial.
I'll share my simple tips and techniques for drawing a Christmas Cardinal bird and how to turn it into a handmade Christmas card.
At the beginning of the video I explain how I create my own greetings cards from watercolour paper and how to create a deckle edge on the paper before starting on the picture.
The video is useful for anyone would like to draw and colour their own Cardinal bird or make a handmade card this holiday season. I'm drawing on watercolour paper with coloured pencils. I'm drawing a Festive bird but the techniques used in this video can be applied to other animals too!
I share tips and demonstrate how I blend colours and use values to add depth and achieve a realistic looking bird - perfect if you are a pet portrait artist!
