Yes I didn’t understand how they proof the fact that he was really the murderer …maybe he didn’t do it himself and paid for it …. Because AM had a fitness app proof that his steps were used for the time of killing….they had no fingerprint…no weapon…nobody was investigating it because of his relationship with LE and when they need a killer made him the killer….my problem is what about all his criminal stuff they all look away…. example never watched the crime scene before…never had a problem to leave him out so long time of investigation without bringing him to the police station to ask as they would by others and never had a clue about the whereabouts of his son or what about the money he gave to the man who was interviewed to be paid to kill AM ….the app of the steps and the money was the proof of killing the family and now they are laughing and are amused for being the star of the universe …without the seriousness of the fact that a lot of family members have been traumatised by the LE who has done nothing at the time when they needed it….now they are the good ones? They also lied to the grand jury by saying that he wear a blood stained shirt at the evening of shooting….otherwise he wouldn’t be at trial….Sorry but it’s not how law should work….i don’t think he did it alone ….the investigation was not professional enough to proof the fact he killed them….it was probably proof of a narcissistic disorder behaviour man that was helped so long time by the LE itself to get away with it authorities let him go till they need a murderer ….to look good …they needed a killer and made a killer… how to trust now these people who are smiling and didn’t made their job when they need to…maybe the 2 would be alive now…

Wish the team had introduced themselves first. Not all of us live in South Carolina or even the US. That being said, I only came across this trial near the very end and was then hooked. I have gone back and watched all of the court testimonies and related analysis, documentaries and podcasts. This team was great. I did not think the jury would convict Alex because of the dominance of the family over the courts there. That is the real victory here imo. There are Murdaugh “families and counties” all over the world. This is truly a David and Goliath victory. Kudos to the state AG office as well. Well done!

Yes. I thought the evidence was strong but some didn’t and it only takes 1 juror who feels uncomfortable sending someone to their death if they’re not 100% sure he did it, which is what happened in CA trial. They were pretty sure she did it, but pretty sure wasn’t enough. It’s good to hear that AM is not allowed in general population (for his safety), because that’s a LOT less resources he can Use to his advantage in prison. He has a lot to offer other prisoners if given the chance to mingle and he would surely make them pay up for it. This way he gets to fully appreciate the prison experience sans the “benefits”. All alone. To fester in what he’s done.

The Murdaugh's were running that town and numerous cover ups. It seemed that the general public felt, "goodluck" dealing with a Murdaugh. They knew who ruled that town and the police. They had someone in every corner of that town to be able to manipulate situations to benefit themselves.
@kateashby3066
@kateashby3066 Жыл бұрын
This is why it’s so easy to speculate that a Murdaugh was involved in Stephen Smith’s death, because it was covered up and labeled a hit and run when clearly that’s not what happened. Kid was struck by something to the HEAD and fell to the ground. He was not struck by a car- flinging him up in the air and across the road, doing damage to his entire body. Only his head had trauma and his loose shoes were still on. It’s known that shoes go flying off in car accidents but his LOOSE shoes were on his feet. So why the cover up of not to protect someone “important”? I hope that case gets solved now that his body had been exhumed.

It was said that people didn't want to go up against the Murdaugh family... they also didn't want to go up against corrupt law enforcement officials, a powerful network of lawyers, and a wayward judicial system that was obviously either in cahoots with Alex or deliberately turning a blind eye to all of this illegal activity. This is much larger than Alex and a couple friends, so it's my hope that the AG won't be satisfied with taking down 3 or 4 people when there is an entire good ol' boy network who enabled this corruption.

Paul is the only person that locked up Alex with the video. SLED did not investigate his parents house right away. The whole murder scene had tons of Alex’s friends all over the place and a lot more. There is a video of John Marvin moving the riffles. He also cleaned up the murder scene. If it wasn’t for Pauls video I don’t believe Alex would have gotten any jail time. The best was all the cell phone records, onstar. This really helped with the trial. The Snapchat video was key but without the digital records it would have been harder to get a guilty verdict. If Casey Anthony's prosecuters would have used her cell and digital records they would have won their case.
@HomeGypsy
@HomeGypsy Жыл бұрын
Having all that OnStar data come in right before the last week of the trial was like some kind of a legal miracle, and it doesn’t get NEAR enough recognition. I try to imagine how many folks worked 24/7 to analyze it and prep it for presentation. I think Waters was prepared for Alex to testify, but the OnStar data had to have been a complete surprise!
@juismac
@juismac Жыл бұрын
I would say yes that the Snapchat video was the main reason why they brought the case to trial. But the cell phone data was the slam dunk of the case after that video came out. The case was really over after the expert witness testified explaining the cell phone data on the victims and Alex’s phones.

I can see Creighton doing that 40 slide PowerPoint before trial too. 😂 They did an amazing job (as well as the judge!) I admit I was concerned the prosecution team was allowing AM to ramble on & on & was afraid he'd be able to get atleast 1 juror to have pity for him. I was wrong! AM sealed his fate with all of his lies! Creighton's "my baby, my baby," phrase will forever be attached to that case! Well done.
@kateashby3066
@kateashby3066 Жыл бұрын
No no, you want the liars to ramble on because they eventually slip up and make a mistake. Also, the prosecution showed us what he sounds like when lying by displaying the vids of his interviews after the murder and also after the roadside shooting. The guy takes NO issue with BSing for his personal benefit, and does it regularly and easily. He fabricated stories like Stephen King does! So showing us that was powerful. Him getting on the stand to lie more only sealed his fate at that point! All the jurors agreed that taking the stand was a BAD idea for him. But narcissists can’t help themselves lol. But to your point, I do agree that everyone was still nervous that he would succeed at manipulating just ONE juror, and he did! Two felt he was not guilty by the time the closing arguments were wrapped. Luckily the other strong jurors quickly flipped them after reviewing the evidence. :)

I think it was important to show how ruthless Alec was and how easy he could look people in the eye and lie to them. I'm confused! What evidence? Ha. This case had the weakest amount of evidence I have ever seen for a double murder Trial. They didn't have the weapons. They didn't have DNA. They didn't even have his clothes. No exact time of death. Instead, Time of Death was determined by "The Last Time Their Phones Locked." That scares me. Everything was purely circumstantial, which can be okay in Trials, but not this one. They convicted Alex based on the fact that he was a Liar, Thief and Drug Addict....not a Murderer. They never proved he was a Murderer.

@@deltawoolery1669 Way ahead of you! No way I could continue watching mouthy Emily after making the mistake of choosing her coverage of the AM trial. EDB was too busy flapping her jaws while mocking veteran prosecutor John Meadors to perceive his skill, and too biased and hard headed to acknowledge his brilliantly effective rebuttal closing argument is why the jury deliberated less than 3 hours after a 6 week trial. The move to Tennessee with Dr Baker apparently didn’t alter the warped perspective of a liberal California native that so obviously infects EDB’s opinions & commentary.

For me, this trial was easy to follow, the narrative was brilliantly explained; the prosecution case was uncomplicated and easy to understand and follow and that's a testament to the professionalism of this team. The defence's case was the polar opposite. Very often the defence will try to obfuscate and confuse evidence and jurors but try as they might they couldn't get around the timeline and the weight of the evidence. I don't think there was ever a moment where I didn't believe that Murdaugh would be found guilty, I had so much confidence in this team. Somehow the rationale for not pursuing the death penalty seems correct. He's got a long time to be tormented by his misdeeds. As a narcissist, he's not going to like being told what to do, but I doubt he will lose sleep over what he did and has done. He'll play the victim and blame everyone else. He will never see that he's the sole reason that he's where he is. I believe this story has not ended and there is more to come involving the Murdaugh family.
@kateashby3066
@kateashby3066 Жыл бұрын
I think you’re right. If he loses sleep it’s Uber the stupid mistajes he made that led him to getting caught. Like throwing that knife across the road after puncturing his own tire, and not destroying all cell phones just to be safe. He was sloppy because he’s a narcissist. But you may be right in that he won’t even blame himself for this stuff. Just like Casey A., it’s always everyone else’s fault. Also, according to an ex sex worker who was illegally trafficked and has since escaped, he chocked her with both hands during sex, violently. Men like this are closet control freaks and can’t handle being suffocated by others control. Hence why he had no problem eliminating two people in his way, and why his real self came out during anonymous sex. He’s gunna try and use his charm to get what he wants in prison, but most CO’s are aware of this and don’t play that game. He’s gunna be ALONE and away from general pop. That’s gunna get dark real quick for him.
