Nice pattern, but your choice of color for demonstration purposes and your limited knowledge as to how to articulate the pattern makes it EXTREMELY to follow. Thank you for your effort!!!

So I started to follow along and had to stop for a second and point out that book in the background ..I HAVE to get my Mom the Happy Hooker book ...bahahaha Whether unintentional or not the word play is hilarious to me ! Yes I have my immature moments . haha

It is a good book! haha, it does have a funny name. But it does have great info and a lot about how crochet was started.

This magic circle was so hard for me to learn. The easiest I found was instead of wrapping the first strand around 4 fingers and making such a large awkward circle to work into, I found it easier to learn and controll by wrapping around 2 fingers. Now it's so easy that I think I could do it with my eyes closed.

I had such a hard time when I was first learning it. I had to look it up everytime. Then I went on a bindge making making baby hats ( I start all of my hats with the magic circle) solved it. I do like using four fingers if I have a lot of stitches to put in there...and then I do make a littler one on two fingers if it is six or less stitches I have to put in there.

I’m sure doing these video tutorials gets plenty of ‘constructive’ criticism, and here I am joining in. First, the color was very bad, visually. Second, when you wander off in conversation, it’s confusing, and it’s also confusing when you don’t repeat the sequence correctly. For instance, more than once you left out the ‘chain two’ following the slip stitch. I’m not new to crochet, so immediately stopped crocheting until I knew the pattern wasn’t changing, and you did correct yourself, but that can be very confusing for someone learning. So, the good things: Your voice was clear, as were directions, and you were good about pointing out stitches, back loops, etc. The lack of visibility interfered, but you explained well. You repeated the steps, which was very helpful too. You’re new at this, so I say you did fairly well. With practice, and editing your videos before posting, I think you could become excellent. Thank you, Summer. :)

I’m at minute 4:52 and can see how closing that big loop will give you better control when you crochet. FYI

I need to watch this magic circle witchcraft 239x... I just CANNOT do it so that it looks decent!!
@SummersTipsandStitches6 жыл бұрын
ChristinaFromFlint I agree with the witchcraft....haha. If I don't do the magic ring for a couple weeks, I completely forget how to do it and I have to relook it up!
@ChristinaFromFlint6 жыл бұрын
Initially I thought it was cuz I'm a new & self taught crocheter. So I practiced. A lot. Now, I've decided that it is indeed witchcraft and that's all the explanation I need! Ugh, hate it!!!
@mariakristinahawl16406 жыл бұрын
no, Christina. best not to use magic circle. if your tail isn't weaved in VERY WELL, your project will unravel from beginning. Doing a chaining start is much more secure... cheers!!!
