I was just looking at your Irish Rose coming up next and realized it was the very first thing my Grandmother taught me how to complete some seventy plus years ago when I was five years old. Thank you for bringing it to my memory! Haven’t made it in oh so many years

Such a sweet little square! Very clear instructions, and oh my, your tension is perfect, every stitch! I'd like to try a square blanket starting with this little square, but just continuing to make rounds, do you think it would work out?

This is so gorgeous!!! I would love to make a blanket of these, is there a way to figure out how much yarn I should buy? I am VERY new to crochet.

You would need to know the yarn weight each ball has before you start to calculate. I would buy one ball of each colour first then weight the yarn without the yarn label. Next make several squares, then weigh each ball of yarn again. Subtract that weight from the original weight. You will now know how many grams or ounces you have used from each ball. If you have made two squares, for example, divide the weight you have used by 2 to get what one square takes. Decide how many squares your blanket will have. Multiply the weight of each colour used for one square, by the total amount of squares required for your blanket. Once you have the total weight of each colour you can convert that into how many balls/skeins you need. I do hope this helps and isn't too complicated.
