When the bronx was burning this line was called the ho chi ming trail because of so many buildings were burnt out and destroyed.You could look out the window of the train and see the devastation. Many times the trains would be stopped because of an active first re near the ell

Thank you for posting this. At 0:41, I could see my Grandparents’ apartment that was my main view of the Subway. Spent lots of time there. At 2:08, I now have an explanation for the long red building!! Been wondering about it for many, many (62+) years - always wondered if it was a trolley barn. But figured not, there were piles and piles of new fire hydrants between the building and Jerome Av!!!

The added details are amazing and adds to the enjoyment of the ride. Your historical information is really great in explaining the subway. The only issue is the text message flashes by much faster than I can read them.

What they could have done was actually keeping the 9th ave el Polo grounds shuttle connection intact and then connect that to the 3 train at Harlem 148th as seen in the 1939 plans. That way 3 trains share 4 train sections in the Bronx and Brooklyn like the 2 & 5 trains do. 1 bonus for this is an announcement 4 train via the West side IRT. Excellent video. Concourse line at 174th st to 170th st section where it crosses I-95 Connecticut New Jersey Maine Delaware & New Hampshire Turnpikes Cross Bronx Bruckner Expressways JFK Memorial Hwy Boston Inner Beltway. It's above the hwy in the big overpass followed by the road itself used by Bx1 & Bx2 buses. Below the El you have Bx32 buses. Mount Eden ave is on top of I-95 like 6 train Parkchester east end of 69th st 7 is on top of 278

5:25 "Jerome Line trains use the yard for car washes on Track 29" I think it'd be really great if some, if not all the trains along the Jerome line actually looked clean. Some look really filthy.

You made a mistake, there are more R142As bc ive seen up to 7800 on the (4). Im still trying to figure out if there are higher numbered 7800 sets on the (4) or if it ends at 7800
@NYRTIG
@NYRTIG Жыл бұрын
While we do make mistakes this one we based information on the NYCT'S own Jerome roster. 7810 is the last R142A built in 2005. All non converted R142A/R188s are base in Jerome.

Like the position of the camera . What is a typical speed of express trains on the center track ?
@NYRTIG
@NYRTIG 5 ай бұрын
This part of the line for the M track 30-35mph roughly. There maybe a 40mph section between 167th and Burnside.

How do you read the signal blocks? What does it mean that there is a yellow dot above the green?
@Mk99987
@Mk99987 Жыл бұрын
Your chaining distances are wrong. For instance, 5764+00 and 5554+00 should be 576+00 and 555+00. The 4 is the signal identifier. This is only on ex-IRT lines.

Thanks for the feedback we'll do a better job proofing moving forward. It's all experimental visual wise quite a-bit of information to input easy to miss something.

Great footage. Would be an even better production with some proofreading on the information captions to fix the frequent grammar and spelling errors evident in this and the next video in the series. Many captions also clear too quickly to be read completely, so perhaps keep them up longer. A good guide on how long to leave captions up is to record a voiceover reading of those same captions, even if that audio isn't included in the final video.

Thank you for your feedback. Going forward, we have a dedicated proofreader who will help us improve the quality of our videos. We will also remaster this video and include it in a full route version. We appreciate your support and will strive to produce better content in the future.
