If the DCS module is to be compared, when you start the engine (either one), yeah the blades start spinning. (Not immediately, but slightly lagged, after you get above like 20% Ng) I gotta say I love this mod, and flying it the last few months made learning the DCS version so much easier!! Never thought I would say that about an Arma mod, but that speaks volumes to how well they did.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking it was supposed to be like, couldn’t full remember if the blades started spinning then or after moving power to idle. Appreciate the insight! ❤️

Very well done tutorial, you are getting quite natural. Really enjoyed the smooth commentary. I have a question about the Ihads monocle. I notice alot of info in the monocle, but it seems cluttered in a sense. For the novice, is it important to keep it on, or would you suggest trying without and using the systems displays while you learn.

I would suggest getting accustomed to the IHADSS. It definitely helps you more than it hinders you. You could very well as the pilot make due without the monocule however I don't recommend it.

Can one player control and shoot? or for two players pilot and gunner ?...

One player can control and shoot as long as there is in AI in the gunner seat and you select "Manual fire" in the scroll wheel options from the pilot seat.

@@xSlykiller Late to the party but you can use a mod called, All In One Command Menu Deluxe. You can fly the Apache while playing as the CPG, solo play.

A bit late to the party but Can you share your entire mod list that you use?

For some reason, I can't interact with anything in the cockpit? I've rebinded the cockpit interaction key to space and in the cockpit itself, the MFD's turn themselves on automatically and when I hover the green crosshair over something, no text appears and I can't interact with anything.

Sounds like a bug, you may just need to restart your game when that happens.

Can you tell us what can we do if we over heat our engine and getting the high rotor rpm warning while flying...its really annoying and cant figure out how to fix that.... Also what can we do if our engine fails for high rotor rpm while flying....cz every time we use auto hover the rpm over heats and shuts down .....

I can certainly cover this in a future video in more depth! Auto hover will only work at low altitudes if your Apache is fully loaded down with weapons and fuel. You want to avoid using auto hover and keep continuous movement when flying, otherwise just lighten the aircraft by carrying less ammo and less fuel. I highly encourage you to check out the official Apache discord in the description of the video where the devs can better help you understand the mechanics of this airframe. Hope this helps!

@@mindbloopers47 to my knowledge, the warning comes up after you’ve damaged the engines from over torque. The high rotor rpm warning is letting you know your engine is in imminent danger of failure. Keep an eye on your torque levels on the ENG page readout and keep your tq for Eng 1 & 2 collectively under 100% preferably no higher than 99%. It’s okay every now no then to exceed these percentages but only for brief moments.

@@mindbloopers47 the Apache needs to be repaired if it’s gotten to this point. You’ll have to bring a repair truck I believe to fully repair.

If the green cursor isn’t showing up, make sure that head tracking is off (do this by scroll wheeling while in the cockpit and checking the head tracking is set to off) and try getting out of the bird and getting back in. If this doesn’t work you may need to restart your game or rejoin the server you’re connected to.

Does the mod require a paid add-on ? Why does the game require me to have the apex addon ? and how to click in the cockpit to perform various tasks ?...for example, starting the engine ?...

No the mod does not require any paid add-ons. No the mod does not require Apex to work

You get the mod from the Steam Workshop, it’s the “AH-64D Apache Longbow Official Project” by voodooflies. Once you download it from the workshop you head over to your Arma 3 launcher and under the “Mods” section you scroll until you find it in your mod list and make sure to check the box next to it then load up Arma 3 and enjoy! Hope this helps!
