Nice JWP’s! But damn those squirrels!! Looks like you need a quiet air rifle to dispatch them💥 I just repotted my Fukuzumi WP, on March 13th, it sits a bit high in the pot so hopefully the surface roots next to the trunk (now exposed) won’t send the tree into shock! Hopefully with good care it’ll do well, I’m in zone 9B in Northern California so afternoon shade is a must. Keep up the good work and keep us updated on these trees! Thank you!

Thanks for chiming in! I’d love to see a picture of your trees if you’d like to share one. And yeah those squirrels… You know, I used to go visit my grandparents in Cincinnati and my grandpa always kept a BB gun By his back door to shoot squirrels and I never really understood why but now that I’ve got thousands of dollars worth of pretty trees in my backyard, I’m ready to go nuclear lol

Lovely 🤗 just stumbled upon you. I have 2 grafted white pines I must pot on, to grow bigger and give them some nice free draining mix. Lovely trees aren't they. Have a great potting season and successful growing year 🙏 🙂

@@KitakuBonsai I will check back in 👍 Yes the potting on season is going to start in a weeks time for me in West Wales, Uk. I have about 25 trees that need work, some dug up from the ground and potted on, bear rooting a lot that ive bought and potting them on, wiring, styling etc, lots to do, so I've booked a week off from the plant nursery I work at to do my own. I'm looking forward to it. My soil elements are all here, just waiting to start! When I'm lying in bed just before drifting off, I love picturing the trees in my minds eye and how I'm going to tackle them 🤗 I'm sure you do too! 🙂

Great work with these 3 white pines. When do you think we will get some actual accumulated snow? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Matt! I’m not sure about the weather man, I’ve heard of some folks having their daffodils poking up out of the ground already.

how long have you been practicing bonsai for? thanks for sharing your knowledge!
@KitakuBonsai Жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking! I’d say about 14 years ago is when I started working with my first few trees. I didn’t make anything too successful then, so I put it down for a while. Then about seven years ago, I got the bug and it really bit me hard. Since then, I’ve been trying to expand my knowledge and experience, and certainly still have a lifetime to go. How about you?

@@KitakuBonsai awesome you got back into it! i'm glad i found your channel. this was my first year, so far i only have a few trees and few air layers and needless to say i'm still fumbling around. unfortunately there aren't any clubs near me so i'm stuck with learning on the internet. could be a lot worse i suppose!

@@bustamante-music glad you found our channel! There’s so many other good ones out there too. I’d recommend seeing what all the different folks are doing, different styles and approaches, and find a flow or a direction that works for you.
