I want to thank Dr. Patricia Bath. In 1981 she invented the Laserphaco probe, a surgical tool that she continued to perfect and patent in 1988. Her laser tool was used during eye surgery to correct cataracts; it was more precise, less invasive, and less risky than previous devices, and has been used around the world. Thanks to her, millions more people worldwide have reclaimed their eyesight and been given access to safer ophthalmology equipment for a variety of conditions. I want to thank her on behalf of my grandmama, who was able to spend her final year seeing her loved ones' faces because her cataracts were safely removed. It meant a lot to her to see our smiles for the last time. Thank you Dr. Patricia Bath! Thank you Mr. John Albert Burr! Thank you Mrs. Marie Van Brittan Brown and her husband Mr. Albert Brown! He was the electronics technician whom she co-created the system with!

Making an already existing invention better is awesome but it's not inventing...
@sonicstep4 жыл бұрын
Correct, it's mostly innovation brought about by technology transfer. There are very few things that have been purely invented, especially with complex systems. It's typically products or methods that have been combined and applied in a different novel way to satisfy a perceived need or interest. Over time they evolve to become more refined and efficient at performing their tasks. Advancements are achieved by being mindful of technological developments and applying them where appropriate. It's also mostly collaborative teams these days with product development than a single person effort, drawing on experties from all sorts of specialisations.

Thomas a carentan invented the stethoscope David unitepon conceptualised and designed the helicopter 22 years before it was a reality Norbert Rillo was the inventor of the multiple effect vacuum evaporator which revolutionised the process of sugar he was a prime architect

Everything you said was wrong. Norbert Rillieux was white. Igor Sikorsky and Paul Cornu invented the helicopter. René Laennec invented the stethoscope,he was white. The top was the first AMERICAN to do an open heart surgery. Many other WHITES did it before.

Theres a fine line between innovator and inventor but yes improving on an old invention makes you an innovator, but creating a knew technique in place of an older tool is in fact an invention, color tv what makes it work is an invention in comparison to black and white tv and also an innovation because it improved on an old project and no slippery slope "it would have been made anyway because I unlime you am from multiple realities" can change that. People love to play word games when they have no other arguments left, innovator isnt a dirty word though and neither is pioneer.

The white man went to Africa in the 1500's. By that time Oxford University was already built. So was the great wall of China. St Peters-burg in Russia. Japan was thriving. What was sub Saharan Africa doing? There is not one structure that stands in Sub Saharan Africa that is is over 500 years old. What were they doing for 9500 years before that? Also side note white countries were the first to abolish the slave trade. Africans sold whites black slaves we didn't go there with guns and randomly take people. Yet we were the first to abolish it even though it still goes on in Africa and Arabia to this day. Why do black people leach off the white man? In a free democratic country like US why not create your own Universities, businesses, jobs. Why always look to the white man? Instead go and sort out the 83% single parenthood in black families in the US.
@aviraes4 жыл бұрын
"What was sub Saharan Africa doing?" benin walls are collectively the longest man/made structure ever built, and the walls were destroyed by colonialists (benin empire as a whole, was flourishing)- "The Guinness Book of Records (1974 edition) described the walls of Benin City and its surrounding kingdom as the world’s largest earthworks carried out prior to the mechanical era. According to estimates by the New Scientist’s Fred Pearce, Benin City’s walls were at one point “four times longer than the Great Wall of China, and consumed a hundred times more material than the Great Pyramid of Cheops”." but other than that, askum, nubia, mali, dhar tichitt, songhai, empire of zimbabwe, etc were all very successful empires en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_kingdoms_in_pre-colonial_Africa "What were they doing for 9500 years before that?" the same thing everyone else was doing "In a free democratic country like US why not create your own Universities, businesses, jobs. Why always look to the white man?" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenwood_District,_Tulsa
