The V355 Hitachi 35 Mhz is a little sister model to the V422 40 mhz. The only differences are the bezel is different to reflect the less bandwidth. My V355 was 640 dollars new in December 1986 and was sold thru a single electronic dealer. Maybe Mouser etc. The rumor then was the degraded performance V422 in production were just rebranded as V355 . Hitachi did not have a service manual for the V355. You used the one for V211, V212, V222, V422. The only published differences between the V422 and V355 are bandwidth 40 Mhz versus 35 Mhz . And rise time 8.8 ns versus 10nS. My V355 Hitachi came in a V422 Hitachi box that had 4 check boxes for the 4 different normal models. The V355 was hand written in. My actual V355 bandwidth is actually about 40 Mhz anyway. It starts to drop some at 38 to 39. The V355 here has never had any issues at all. It was 100 bucks less in cost than the V422 model.
