2:05 7:26 Thanks for mentioning Punto. In 2009 when we bought our 1st car which was a swift, I was a noob. I didn’t have a driving license. Somehow I wanted to buy Punto and convinced my parents. We bought a Punto 1.3 multi jet in 2011 after selling swift. I have no words to express my feelings for Fiat and Punto. It completely changed the way I looked at cars. My cousin had almost bought a Honda city in 2017, I convinced him to go for rapid Monte Carlo diesel and he is thankful to me till date. I bought a new Abarth in 2019 after Fiat announced their exit, unfortunately had to sell it coz of financial issues in 2021. Now driving 11 year old grande Punto diesel. Still unable to find a perfect replacement under 25 lakhs. Only kushaq and Virtus are the worthy cars (barring the light steering).One last time I’m waiting for Jeep to launch their compact suv before switching to VW/Skoda. People realise the value of brands like Fiat and Ford only after their exit. The same shouldn’t happen to VW/Skoda. Thanks to Sunderdeep ji for supporting brands that make cars with soul. Thanks to Munish ji for providing such informative sessions.

A diesel generator is way more reliable, but that doesn't mean we use it to drive car. So turbo or NA car are same as long as you follow manuals and keep your machine serviced. You have turbo in tata trucks since 90s, and they are still running on roads.

I have driven Linea, which is bigger than Virtus/Slavia, without the rear camera, without rear sensors, and of course without a 360-degree camera (at the time camera was only supposed to be used for taking pictures). The only tool available was IRVM & ERVM. I drove on the densest trafficked roads & never felt like a needed to have these. In fact mastered the art of calculating the distance from the rear wall by the reflection of red brake lights :D. I think 360-degree and all are just nice to have features that get used only once in a while after the initial novelty is over. Don't make that as the basis for owning/not owning a car.

One thing is slightly wrong here Sunderdeep ji. In turbo charged engines, along with higher air quantity, we also send more fuel. The air-fuel mixture does not change much and each engine tries to keep it constant for max efficiency, that is always being sensed using sensors in exhaust gases. So during peak turbo zone and high rpms the 1.0 turbo is actually burning more fuel than a 1.0 NA engine. And that is why it is extracting a LOT more power than just by having more air. Having more air actually allows small engine to burn more fuel and generate more power. Peak torque at 2-2.5k rpm is a beautiful side effect of using pressurized air to fill the ignition chamber. I hope I cleared it

I drive a ford ecoboost. And previously owned a honda 1.2 ltr car. And I get 15-16 kmpl in the morning and 22 plus in the night with less or no traffic. The key to extracting fuel efficiency from turbo petrol is, dont rev the car in each gear to the limit which we do in na engines, which i used to do in honda to feel the performance, you can upshift from as Low as 2000 rpm in turbo petrols, and car pulls strongly. Great video! Very well explained! I went for ford ecosport after ford was gone, because I just loved the car for the build, performance on offer and later on discovered that I can fuel efficiency similar to what people get from small na engines. Go for turbocharged cars, learn to drive them, u will enjoy every bit of it.

Fiat Tjet Engine is a gem of an engine like the VW TSI. But nobody in India talks about it. I owned 2 Tjets & second one ran to 73k km but the engine was exactly like Day 1. Tjet coupled with HPS, 4 disc brakes, and tank-like build was a gem of a car. I would say Vento, Polo or none of the cars below 30L are a match for it (in 2010 Tjet on-road price was 10.8L in Bangalore). On highways i used to overtake cars much higher segment with ease. Very expensive and not widely available spare parts 4. Among the worst resale value. 6. Size confirms that the car is more of a crossover like i20 active. 7. EPC error history 8. Rattling noise on break AC dashboard window Bush All these make kushaq and taigun not the right choice at all. Then, Less than 1.2l 3 cyl with turbo is good if budget less than 12 lakhs. As maintenance cost will also be lower. But if budget is higher say more than 12 lakhs than it would be better to go for NA 1.5 or higher or greater than 1.2l 4cyl turbo petrol engine like 1.5l TSI, NA 1.5l Hyundai, 1.5l i-Vtec, 1.5 NA K15 maruti suzuki etc. As it will perform better on hills, more smoothness due to 4cyl engine, better mileage in low rpm.

No, in real world conditions like traffic jams, mostly the car is idling. At idle speed, the turbo is not running, so on one hand you are idling a 1.5L NA vs 1.0L Turbo, so turbo consumes less fuel. NA engines now come mostly in high end sports car, like the latest Ferrari Purosangue, as they don't have turbo lag and also give ground thumping exhaust sound from the 6.5L

Only if the Turbo Kicks in at above 1250-1500 rpm or once it attains speed of 15-20 kmph & above. Question is what happens in our Congested, Chaotic City Start-Stop traffic conditions. Would it return good fuel economy because of lower capacity engine. OR it might consume more fuel to produce torque at less than 1200 rpm or below 10 kmph speed. Mind you during peak hour Mumbai City Traffic the average speed attained is under 12-15 kmph. Which definitely is below TC kicks Inn. Tab kya hoga dost. On highways. Yes, it would definitely out perform both in Power delivery & efficiency. I think maybe the main reason why VWs has developed 4 - Cylinder 1.5 TSI is for better performance in most of the Driving conditions. 🍃🍂 Maybe that's the reason Why Cylinder DEACTIVATION technology in 4 Cylinder delivers better fuel economy. My Bania Equation is reduction of Engine Size from 4 to 3 cylinder is Co. Cost & Space Saving. Addition of TC will reuse the discharged Air-fuel mixture, Compress & recharge back into the cylinder head to finally drive the crank Shaft & produce Power. Would like to know does the company compensates the cost saved in manufacturing 1 less Cylinder & Size ? With addition of TC Unit it increases the Cost. At times it is as expensive as the engine or little less. As we all know India is very Price Sensitive Market. If 1.5 NA 4-Cylinder costs is XYZ. > 1.0 TSI 3 Cylinder would Cost XYZ + ₹1.50+ lacs over 1.5 NA. > 1.0 TSI with DSG would Cost XYZ + ₹3.5 Lacs over 1.5 NA. And that where the problems are!That's the reason Why VW-Skoda is not be able to sell in Big Nos. in India. VW-Skoda has to offer 1.0 TSI in Sub 4 Mts to take advantage of Taxes. Which would definitely bring down the final Pricing for many Indians to experience the TSI technology. Only than their investments will bear fruits of success & profits in Indian Auto Market.

In bumber to bumper traffic you anyways drive at gear 1 or gear 2, which has higher torque. Since the speed is less, much power is not required. So the 1.0 L turbo engine will still produce better mileage than a 1.5 L NA engine in bumber to bumper traffic. B

@@The_Wanderer916 You are maybe right technically. But from infos shared by 1.0 TSI Car owners & Mumbai City driving Experience their efficiency figure is in single digit only. Which is too less after paying so much in VW-Skoda Cars with 1.0 TSI Engine. Most of the compact hatch are offered with 1.0 Engine. VW offered 1.0 TSI on Compact Hatch Polo & same is offered on Taigun as well. VW-Skoda thinks Indians are fools as they no nothing about engine & power delivery. If that is true then VW-Skoda are fools offering more expensive 4 Cylinder 1.5 TSI Engine. According to me VW-Skoda should have offered at least 1.2 TSI 4 Cylinder Petrol engine to stay on top of the competition.
@The_Wanderer916 Жыл бұрын
@@rajoosolanky780 You're right about the 1.2 L 4 cylinder engine. A 3 cylinder engine at such price point makes little sense. About the mileage in city traffic being in single digit, I would say, based on the feedback from my friends who own other good mid size SUVs like creta, seltos, their mileage is also similarly low in city traffic. We should not compare the slavia or kushaq with maruti and other hatchbacks.

@@munishsharma96fail to understand if the 1.0 TC Engine is so good why it does not reflect in Sales nos. Power delivery is not so great maybe because of tuning by Renault-Nissan India. So apart from engine it is offered all basics including 3 decades old dandiwala door locks which were introduced by Maruti 800 at the launch in 80's. There is a limit to cost cuttings you can't be going back 3 decades. I am in agreement with Renault-Nissan producing good Engines. High regards on the 1.3 TC Engine which is also used by Mercedes. Its a peppy engine on Kicks but fails in efficiency. About 1.5 DCI engine. It was offered on Duster, Captur & Kicks. It was an efficient engine but gone because it could not meet BS6 norms. Duster & Captur are both discontinued & on the verge of extinction is Kicks by the end of Dec, 2022 or maximum by March, 2023. Presently Kiger-Magnite Sales are suffering because of better offerings from Tata PUNCH. Kiger-Magnite are nothing but beefed up hatch in Size with compact hatch engine. Total Sales is around 3,500 - 4,000 Units against Tata Punch 12,000 Units per month. May not Sustain in Sales nos. for long unless they really are serious with India & latest Offerings from Renault-Nissan especially ePOWER Kicks. Strict no to Outdated Global models fit only for 3rd world African Nations.

@27:55 how a supercharged engine has two turbos? Do you know that turbo n supercharger are two different things? They work on two different principles, turbo works on exhaust gasses and supercharger works by a belt which is directly connected to crankshaft. Supercharger consumes engine power to produce more power hence it’s not so popular as a turbo.

No reverse parking camera no and foldable mirrors . Keyless entry or digital instrument cluster or sunroof are gimmic features according to me . Turbocharging is also known as forced induction tech bus as the name denotes internal stress is muchmore in forced induction engines rather an NA engine . Indinn consumers are spoiled by maruti or hyundai regarding features but long term ownership matters a lot tha is when your vehicle is almost 9 to 10 years old replacement cost of major parts will be much more ....... by the way also enjoying my skoda rapid ambition 1.0 AT

The base variants of kushaq/slavia, taigun/virtus do not have hill hold assist. But, I have seen hill hold assist activated in a taigun base model through coding. As far as my understanding goes, it is a combination of both hardware and software. Just wanted to know from you guys if that is possible or is it a gimmick.
@ravibasera12 жыл бұрын
Polo TSI Highline manual also do not have Hill hold assist and ESP, but on highway at more than 100 speed i had to take quick steering manuver to avoid a dog, and i felt as if the car avoided getting out of hand and i could quickly was able to correct the steering and avoid understeering. I wanted to know that whether for polo tsi, is there a possibility of activating hill hold assist or it has the hardware of hill hold missing because ESP involves gyroscopic yeo angle measuring hardware as well as software, polo i guess is not equipped as a standard ESP car and ESP came only with GT and Polo TSI highline automatic but VW 02 are basically equipped with ESP as a part of their platform.
@a_zee4242 жыл бұрын
@@ravibasera1 yeah, the older Vw's do not have ESP. The newer 2.0 models come with ESP as standard so I think hill assist can be enabled through software in the base model as well unless VW/Skoda has put some kind of restrictions on it.

1 L turbo is better than 1.5Na on open roads as it has more touq. However, at low end a bigger engine is better as a turbo engine will always have some lag so a 1.5 na will be better in traffic or in mountains.
@amitagrawal61152 жыл бұрын
1.0 l tsi starts delivery turbo power from 1500 rpm and delivers upto 4500 rpm. No lag at all. It can easily beat 1.5na engines. They are using smaller turbo that can start spooling at low rpm
@atulpandey65002 жыл бұрын
@@amitagrawal6115 ya ofcourse. The more they reduce turbo lag, better it wud be. However, a na engine with the same amount of power will still be better at lower rev range as the base power of the engine is higher. One is achieving 115hp with a turbo and the second has the same power without a turbo so the second doesn't need to wait for that turbo to kick in. Btw not saying na engine is better. Just trying to highlight a small positive associated with na engines which was missing from this video.
@amitagrawal61152 жыл бұрын
@Atul Pandey let's take 1.0 tsi as a case. It starts delivering power from 1500 rpm. When idling, it's around 900 rpm. It's a smooth revving engine and sensitive to accelerator input. The moment you press accelerator engine revvs high delivering lot of power to wheels. Thereby, the lag is next to none. Turbo engine needs a slight change in driving style but you will get used to it in a couple of days. I drive both 1.5 tsi and 1.1 NA on daily basis. In 1.5 tsi with dsg vw has made lower gears tall so that the surge of power from 1.5 tsi engine doesn't damage the dsg (they are trying play safe due to past dsg exp imo).

What about the fact that you could lose a simple part like a radiator in an accident in your VW/Skoda vehicle, which would result in 1-2 months of your car staying in the service centre? What about the clear lack of quality in their cars compared to 1.0?
@SunderdeepSingh2 жыл бұрын
Clear lack of quality was a myth, it scored 5 in the GNCAP whereas old PQ platform was 4. You give some, you get some. Second, it is all about sales. Even if you hit S-Cross or Alturas G4, parts will arrive late irrespective of the brand.

@@SunderdeepSingh so build quality is the only quality you would want at 20L? What about interior quality? What about fit finish feel? And you’re really justifying parts like radiator condensor fenders bumpers not being in stock for a mass market brand? You harp about the Polo, are you even comparing the Polo’s quality to the Slavia’s?

Turbo GDI engines are performance oriented. If you use the performace on offer mileage is not much better than NA. So it's only relatively better to NA engines. 1. Small turbo engines have lower longevity than non turbo due higher tolerances 2. GDI turbo engine needs higher quality of fuel. 3. GDI engines need proper maintenance and it's maintenance is higher e.g. 4.5L engine oil compared to 3.2 in NA 4. Shorter distance trips are problematic for GDI as valves are not lubricated. Need specific cleaning in maintenance 5. GDI engines emit more particulate matter like diesel and need a GDI filter which is again a cost. 6. Small turbo engines have bad turbo lag in city conditions 7. AC performance is not good in such conditions below the turbo zone. This was seen practically in our Indian conditions 8. Finally not everyone needs the performance. Simplicity, lower maintenance and reliability are practical factors. Germans love to do the high tech and complicated technology for its own sake to show how much engineering they can do. But that's suited to enthusiasts only. So we should have a balanced view.
