Rabbi Menis here was radiating an amazing Presnce. And you Zevi have my full appriciation for being a good interviewer and talk-mate who doesn't give up on his worldview and keeps questioning and persisting. I highly recommend the book כלא חד ("All is One") (heb.) by Rabbi Dr. Reuven HaCohen Uria, who lays bear this paradigm shift in the Rebbe's action very clearly and profoundly.

I agree with the problem of learning multiple levels in Chassidut and misunderstaning the Aztmut. Yet I belive all Chassidut should be read in this light and then it shines through. The Alter Rebbe was trying as well to create a language of Unity out of the linguistic compenents of Kabbalah, also trying to point out to the Undefinable. By the way, interesting to point out that in the Alter Rebbe the phrase isn't עצמות ומהות but rather עצמותו ומהותו יתברך, HIS Self and Essence (Blessed be He), so it is not an object or a level but pointing out to God's undefinable Person.

“US” defines a relationship. The unity is in the Shma. The ultimate unification. Everything is ONE but if it is I with myself then that is again relationship.

As Dante said, as the Isa Upanishad, the Gita, and the Bible obviously. Dante said it is "Not a me, but a we" Isha line 6, Yoga Sutra 1:2. Gita 2.55... But, HaShem is outside of that we, we are created in his image, but we are not he/they/El. Genesis 1:22 HaShem says we are like gods, but not a god, or The G-D. like one כְּאַחַ֣ד (kə·’a·ḥaḏ) Preposition-k | Number - masculine singular Strong's 259: United, one, first of Us, מִמֶּ֔נּוּ (mim·men·nū) Preposition | first person common plural Strong's 4480: A part of, from, out of knowing לָדַ֖עַת (lā·ḏa·‘aṯ) Preposition-l | Verb - Qal - Infinitive construct Strong's 3045: To know good ט֣וֹב (ṭō·wḇ) Noun - masculine singular Strong's 2896: Pleasant, agreeable, good and evil. וָרָ֑ע (wā·rā‘)

Reb Aryeh Kaplan asked what’s better 100% dvekus or 99%? Who is being experiencing dveykus in zevis model? Although true it is oneness…. But the beauty of Judaism is “Tznius” and allowing a separation to have a “relationship” Zevy’s way has truth and beauty but it is eastern yogic in its depth All paths have truth and beauty….,
