Hi , From a different video in LinkedIn learning I heard that as per the Scrum Alliance addition , Product Backlog Refinement can also be considered as a scrum event . This video states it is not . Can this be clarified ?

It is not a formal event. I can be an ongoing thing vs single meeting or a single meeting or may not happen every Sprint hence not considered a Scrum event since depending on the team and time it will vary.

what happens when the product goal is achieved?

Great question - it’s Ryan (the guy in the video). When the PG is achieved (or abandoned if the market has made it obsolete) a new one is created. Likely the PB will then be heavily refined to remove any PBIs that were not required to meet the ‘old’ PG. Even though it’s a complementary practice to Scrum, a Product Vision can really help a PO to determine what the next strategic step could be. Drop any more questions and I’ll do my best to answer them.
