In one of your episodes you noted that motor trend ,who could not even come close to being able to afford the 40 plus videos you created to do this project, showed a 2+minute section that would have been the first ten parts of this build. You should have showed the floor pan cleanup. Man that chassis looked spot on. DONT worry about this is boring. It is not even the remotest boring. Keep up the good work. I teach film. Sure would like to help you

I've already learned a ton of welding tips from watching these videos and it is helping me on building my '73 Chevy Vega! I have grafted '73 Nova wheel wells to it because mine were rotted out and the Nova wheel wells look better anyway. I would very much be interested in watching an online class. Top chopping wouldn't apply to me, but other fabrications would. Thanks for taking the time to produce these videos!

Ian, you use the same first aid kit I do! Duct tape and a piece of rag!! On your left thumb was it the Death wheel got you? Check out some stick wax for a bit of lube for saw blades. Makes them cut cooler, better and last a bit longer!! You are correct about Lenex and Milwaukee blades, they are the best, but pricy.

That black undercoat is bitumous underseal, and is great for attracting rust and promoting it. Dealers across the world used to offer it as option. 50 years ago I knew it wasn't any good for preventing rust as I could see it failing all the time .

You make everything look so easy, and it ain't. Your talent inspires many to try to do things they normally wouldn't. I saw some old footage of beetle proving grounds. They were water skiing beetles over a huge puddle. They looked like they had a skid plate under them. I was a maico history video about how the two bros tore apart the best motorcycle company in human history. You tube can really be used for education and enlightenment. Thanks for what you do!

Love the show Ian. I've always had a soft spot for VWs. My dad had a bunch when I was a kid. Everyone I knew in the 70s undercoated their cars. I did grow up in Salt Lake City, Utah though and the winters can be brutal here not to mention the amount of salt that gets thrown all over the streets. That undercoating was asphalt based and it dried out after just a few years. After that I think it actually trapped moisture and caused rust. Nowadays spray on bedliner is the way to go. Your screwdriver/alignment tool is clearly from Harbor Freight. Your secret is safe with me. I won't tell anyone 😉
