PART 10 - Irkutsk to Ulaanbaatar by Trans Mongolian scenic train journey from Russia to Mongolia

PART 10: Irkutsk-Ulaan Baatar
We had an empty berth in our Trans Mongolian compartment. Two guys in their 20's had been travelling through Russian, until one decided to lose his passport. End of holiday for one of the lads. The other guy continued on his journey solo. The girl in the berth above me was Spanish and wanted me to swap my lower berth with her female friend in another part of the carriage. If she had been in a lower berth, I would have swapped to allow them to travel together, but I wasn't prepared to sacrifice a lower berth for an upper. As it turned out, the girl above spent most of her time with her friend, and for good parts of the journey I could hear animated conversations in Spanish.
The border crossing from Russian to Mongolia was a little tense, with uniforms, snarling officers and sniffer dogs.

How up to date are these vids. Your not going to go to Beijing are you. My brother is stuck there because of the virus. They cancelled his flight. He was suppose to go Beijing to Heathrow to Glasgow but it all got cancelled

Planes, Trains, Everything. He got out of China through Vietnam to Cambodia. He’s just going to stay there until end of February to make the next move and try to get back to Glasgow. Maybe going through Dubai
