Here I'm building up the CB Performance throttle linkage. As with most things on this build it didn't go together straight from the box and required some modifications to make it work.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has to modify parts to get them to work.

Can’t wait to see this thing fire up. I’ve been following the entire build.

FYI. 2 years ago I received a set of CB Performance Dual Webers 40idf. I was going to bolt on, but my buddy who is an engine builder recommended to take apart both carbs, clean, and check settings. Turns out he was right, the floats on both carbs were off and not set properly. I hated to do it, but it was worth the extra time. Plus we installed 7557 Jet Doctor Kit.

This is all very interesting info. Carbs coming off to look at float measurements, Jet Doctor kits ordered, plus I'm also looking to try slightly bigger idle jets - moving up from .50 to .60. Which will make more sense when I get my arse into gear and upload my more recent exploits. Hahahaha. Thanks for the comment, very helpful.

Love the build man. I've watched all episodes in two days. I'm still laughing at the "hiding the scale that only reads a few grams" line in an earlier vid. There's no kits available on the CB website. Hopefully they'll restock soon.

Thanks man. Hahahahaha. There's no kits available at CB? Wowza. I wonder if that;s due to global distribution problems? I've never heard of that before!!

@@aircooledanything2415 I'm pretty sure it is supply chain issues and that it's industry wide as well. Hit or miss these days.

@@Bsickperspective yeah makes sense. They can’t sell a kit if they’re missing one piece I guess.

Hi Adam, I'm building a CB engine and your videos will really help. Can you give me some guidance on building a 356 style linkage please?
@aircooledanything24152 жыл бұрын
Hi. First off, sorry for the late reply. A while ago I made a 356 style linkage for an early 30hp Okrasa motor. I picked up a 356 linkage bar on the cheap and fabricated the bracketry that attaches the bar to the fan shroud and the bracket that attaches the 'L' shaped lever on the back (or front, depends which way you look at it). At the time I had a 356 to copy which really helped. The connecting rods I made from stainless steel rods and I used off the shelf balljoints. It all worked out quite well.

Isn't it great to need 3 different sets of tools in your garage? American SAE, Metric and British Standard. I think there's some differences between BS and Whitworth too isn't there? That throttle roller is really trick. Never seen one of those. Where did you find it? The CB hex bar linkage is really a nice set up. I had one when they first came out for my Baby Dell's. Too bad you had to modify yours. At least it was too long and not too short! Another great video.

Hey Charlie. I have VERY limited non metric tooling. I really should get some sorted out as I'm always having to 'make do' with spanners that don't fit as well as they should. So that roller is available in few places. I bought mine here. www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/131721551bq-accelerator-roller-throttle-tube.html

Clean Build 👍🏻 Where i can find the throttle role ?

A few places sell them I think. I'm in the UK and got mine from here. They ain't cheap. Best you're sitting down before you look at the price. www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/131721551bq-accelerator-roller-throttle-tube.html

Just wondering if the linkage is going to clear the alternator. You might want to look at the CSP Bellcrank linkage
@aircooledanything24152 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike. Yeah it clears okay. Just.

Why not just cut the springs in half?
@aircooledanything24152 жыл бұрын
I did consider that, but was worried that half a spring would create half the pressure and that might result in the linkage being too sloppy.

Bailed on this one Lesson for me, stick with a single carb
