Poignant cinematography and haunting music...a fitting epitaph for the "old girl", Dave. Well done, and wipe that grit from your eye!

@@malcolmanderson-sm7zf Thanks. Yes I was lucky, she came to Arran just for a few days and I had a day off. Very nice inside, really good actually, she belied her age well.

Hi Dave, very good (and emotional video). MV Hebridean Isles was and probably still is a very much loved ship. She will be missed. Do you know if the crew will have a bit of her to remember her and if the shipyard where she was built will get a bit of her. She could have been saved and kept as a floating hotel, restaurant for the people of the Hebrides. Where is she going to be scrapped. RIP MV Hebridean Isles 😞
@davetheraverovingtherock2 күн бұрын
I believe she's being broken up for parts firstly. I don't know if parts can be kept, i hope so
@paulheenan9098Күн бұрын
She's laid up at the King George V Dock in Glasgow where she'll be cannibalised as a source of much needed spare parts that will keep the obsolete machinery on fleetmates such as Isle of Arran and Isle of Mull running until its their turn to go. There's been no confirmation on where she'll go for scrap once that's done, but it could be absolutely anywhere. (Jupiter, for example, was towed all the way to Denmark back in 2011)

@@CharmaineP-zq5xl I don't know a herbal doctor myself sadly. If I was wanting to find out, I would go on Facebook, look up 'Arran Community Forum' and then ask the question there to the whole island.
