The 5AT is iffy at best, the previous autos are even worse. Best bet is manual or keep things around 250wtq. Using good fluid that resists thermal breakdown like Amsoil helps as does running a tranny cooler but at the end of the day they really just aren’t made to hold power.

I enjoy the idea of this feat but it will be difficult. Big Full bolt ons (4” cold air intake, 80+mm tb, ported or swapped plenum plus p&p runners, and full decatted 3” exhaust) running on an E85 mix w a good tune will net you 270-280whp on a j30a4/5. Just have to make up that 20-30whp. Cams and head work probably would put you real close if not there. On stock bottom end that’s not too bad. I’m sure upping compression w everything else done would yield 300-310whp. Which is pretty damn good for an NA 3.0. I wouldn’t expect much more than that out of it NA.
@HalferLandPerformance2 жыл бұрын
We would definitely have to disagree. We made 275whp/232wtq with stock cams on our J30a5 with 200k miles on it, our PnP heads and only at 11:1 compression on 93 Pump gas, with a small 2.5" CBE and full J Pipe PCD and tuned by us on Hondata. If we added our Stage 2 cams to our build we easily could have been 290-300whp... 300whp is achievable on the J30. This customer ran into money issue which is why the videos died.

I’m manual swapping my 2000 accord j30a1. I have the type-s upper and lower intake, injectors, and fuel rail installed. The auto holds the j series back so much can’t wait to have the manual. I have the shifter, pedals, transmission, and axles just need the ecu and mounts and thats pretty much it. My plan is to manual swap and swap CL/TL type-s heads onto my 3.0 block. So essentially I’ll Have a 3.0l type-s. Hoping for that 250whp mark. My jdm h22a makes 230 and it’s a 4cyl so it has to make more power haha

My 2005 Honda Accord's machine spirit would like a small modular nuclear reactor, with a water-cooled system, using steam-electric generation and the Seebeck effect to replace the natural aspiration, and Dynamo. The excess power generated, should power an electric motor, nestled around the drive shaft. For an electric turbo, that runs on gas. Instead of a supercharger. It could be an airplane, with a motor jet, instead of wheels on the drive shaft, and the magnetic motor powered by a nuclear reactor could be replaced with a tesla coil, ionizing gas into a jet, through the propeller of the motor jet, forcing out in the opposite direction of the propellers rotation, to give the engine traction... powered by a nuclear reactor. That way, the airborne motor jet, could run simultaneously with the plasma jet, using the same pipe, and you could rig the propellers to run one or the other at a time also.

@muftifaizan19646 ай бұрын
How much can you push the j35 to get the max 'power under the curve' with high compression, preferably around 12.5:1 CR , efficient headers, Ported cylinder head, intake runners , throttle body on 95 octane fuel running stock ecu , to get best max efficiency out of the engine , as j35 returns poor fuel efficiency for daily/street use
@kennethpowers89953 жыл бұрын
I don’t think 300whp from a stock displacement J30 is happening without some insane port work, a wicked valve job, ridiculous cams, a custom intake manifold and it’s gonna have to be running a crazy static compression so fuel will need to be E90 or C/Q16 or maybe even M5. It’s going to be a full out race build. Hell guys have to build into their NSX 3L pretty well to even make 290-300 and that is a far more robust platform than the J30. With displacement on your side it’s easy; I tune full bolt on J35/37 cars that make 300whp all the time, but most 3L hover around 250-260 even on ethanol. Some custom cams and head work will really help the cause, but I think unless your willing to run 14:1 compression and build to be able to spin the motor to 8500-9k your not gonna get that power out of 3L otherwise. And it will not be a streetable affair.
@ivonevistic37763 жыл бұрын
Not sure in this particular case, but there are lots of 3l 6 pot engines making well over 300hp N/A with proper tuning (not massive mods at all for that power) but i supose that depend where you are.. in my region you can see somethimes this kind of set ups!

Cali When it comes to heat soak, it does hurt. If the motor is cool and ran shortly the freer flowing filter element does help for sure, but not when heat soaked as his car was, pulling all the hot air in from the engine bay. Trust me, I’ve ran SRI’s and would see 140* IAT’s and went to a true CAI and saw that drop down to 110-120* which picks up a lot of free power 👍🏻

@@rotweilerdc from what I know the cl type s cam will need a very slight modification to fit the j30a1. The j35 heads are direct fit and will work. Your best bet is the 6speed manual. If you have an automatic tranny it will not like the j35 heads or the extra power. As for 200whp it is possible with a good tuning set up. You’ll need j32 fuel injectors and rail.
