Join me in Part 2 of a new craft-along series!
Part 1: The Introduction, can be found here: • Part 1: (Introduction)...
Mentioned in this video is Patricia V. Her channel is here: / @patriciaviramontes3470
We will be making a tri-fold journal with storage using the "Nature's Remedies" digital kit from Andrea of Artymaze and Tracie Fox of Love Junk Journals. This is a collaborative kit from these two lovely designers. Each half of the kit can be found in their respective Etsy shops. With both halves of the kit, it is HUGE! Well worth the price!
Links for the kit are here:
www.etsy.com/l...
www.etsy.com/u...
Up to this point here are the papers I've printed from the kits.
HB Page 5 with NaturesRemedies 5 on reverse side (Front cover)
HB A4 Tags 2 with NaturesRemedies 5 on reverse (tag on front cover)
HB 5 printed single sided (inside cover left and middle)
HB Env 1 with NaturesRemedies 5 on reverse (pocket inside front left)
HB Page 10 printed single sided (inside right and outside back cover)
HB Page 2 with HB Page 7 on reverse (5 copies) (paper for notepad)
HB Page 1 printed single sided (inside flap)
Here are some general supplies besides the two digital kits that you will need to construct this with me:
2 books of very similar size (mine are Reader's Digest Condensed books)(mine measure approx. 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 1 1/2")
ruler
craft knife
pencil
paper trimmer
scrap fabric pieces
scissors
score board (optional)
distress ink
sandpaper
glue
sewing machine (optional)
stapler
brads
eyelets and eyelet setter
needle and thread
sari silk / ribbon (closure ties)
string / twine
washi tape
trims like lace or edging
heavy paper or cloth doily for pocket on front
scrap book pages for decorating
small piece of heavy cardstock or light chipboard for notepad backing

Dawn - Your work is beautiful! Don’t ever feel as though you need to hurry up. If people don’t like it - they can always watch it on 2x or go along to someone else’s videos. I am so excited about this video series. I have some old children's hardbound books in my basement. I plan to use the covers from two of those to make one of these. It kind of reminds me of a lap-book. But in my opinion much better. I'm thinking of making the binding like a travelers notebook with strings to swap out notebooks. I may put eyelets on the spine for reinforcement. Can you tell I'm excited and looking forward to making at least one. ;) I'm glad you decided to take it slow. There is nothing wrong with longer videos when you are teaching us how to do something. Anyone who doesn't want to watch it all can just fast forward. I've done that on other videos in the past (on other YT channels). And do you seriously get nasty comments on the glue you use. What in the what? Some people need to find something better to do.

I love your videos. And your honesty! I’ve always thought it interesting that people need to have their opinions on what others do heard so loudly. You use that Fabritac!!! It’s a great glue. And some opinionated, unfulfilled person with an overwhelming need for control will comment on the use. Delete and ignore! Your projects are fun, innovative and easy to follow. I am excited to give this one a try and am crafting mine along with you :-)

Not sure if you already know this (you probably do) but I'm just putting it out there. You can mix up a batch of methyl cellulose and spread it over your fragile papers, and it makes them stronger. (It's evidently used a lot in origami, to make the paper stand up to all the folding.)

Hi there, I am having a problem. I have searched but am unable to find a tutorial. I am trying to put 4 chipboard pieces together. Everything is bare, without decoration. I have cut one spine to 3 inches, and the other two at 1.5 inches. I cannot figure out the order I need to go in. It’s hard for me to explain. Should I leave the rough edge of the spines exposed or the rough edge of the book cover. Like say I do the spines first, they will look messy so I am planning on using scrapbook paper to decorate. In order to make things neat do I do the spines and then decorate with the paper. Or do I do the paper and then decorate the spine. I hope you know what I am trying to say. Like say we are looking at the book from the front. Which rough edge should be showing, the paper I’m using for the cover or the paper I’m using for the spine. Sorry to bug, but I’m having a hard go at it. Thank you, millana
