This is amazing - thank you very much. I have one tip for compositing. You can add multiple inputs for the file output in the properties under item. Just hit N and add more inputs. You can also name them and then after rendering you have all in one folder. 👍

You have to open up the properties window in the shader editor by pressing "N". It's in there, not sure why.

You mean like Maya? How you can get a text file with distance, focal length, etc...? I've not seen anything like that. I'm sure there is something but nothing I'm familiar with unfortunately.

Hey am new to octane blender. Ws using cycles till now and was happy till i saw this. what gpu are you running currently? have a old system with Quadro p4000 and it takes me around 36 seconds to render a simple cube with 2k IBL lighting. Could you please do a tut with render optimisation.

I remember seeing a demo of octane in unreal engine and there was the option to use the Nvidia AI noise reduction. Not sure if it’s the same as optix. Are either of these an option with the blender implementation of octane?

There is a denoise option in octane, in the camera imager settings.

They have changed that now. You can access in by hitting "N" and going into the properties or just use a float, alpha or image texture node.

Everything except the diffuse should be set to non color. Everything else works off of grey scale, a black to white value.

I have a really big problem with my octane. So i downloaded the 2.81 version and whenever i try to place a hdri with octane nothing happens. It s just the normal image. But if i go for the cycles Environment it actually works and i dont know what to do. Can u help me?

Make sure you have a camera added. Close blender and close the octane server, then restart it all again. If that does not work, you may need to check drivers.

happened with me too, just uninstall the drivers and install the latest ones, make sure you do a clean uninstall. you can use DDU driver uninstaller, it works amazing.

Try setting your GI Clamp to 1 and turn on adaptive sampling. I am not sure why it is noisy for you.
