A little tricky but with some practice it gets easier. I do a little twist it seems to help

Should the paint be sealed if they are made into pendants, or if they are rubbing against a surface?

Yes definitely! I seal the backs of these with resin. You could also glue them into a tray

You are most welcome! Yes you dip the flat side into the paint. Another way to do this would be to pour skins on a surface they can be peeled off once dry. Then you glue the cabs onto the skins
