I've never seen a bike jacked up leaning on the kick stand to do the front tire, too cool, have a blessed week my friends
@everettcalhoun8197Ай бұрын
It's called working on a bike when you don't have a lift. Even simpler is to pull the bike over and put a block of wood under the right side of the bike.

Thanks again for a another great video Mike&Mike. Love your simple, practical solutions to mundane problems, like jacking the front of the bike up using the kickstand as balance... call me dim, but to me that shows the cool of a lifetime of experience. As always, thanks guys, and I'll hang out for the next instalment. Peace, and cheers from Oz. 👍🇦🇺

Mike didnt like ONE more roadtrip 😂😂 he was like umm excuse me sir I'll be having TONS of roadtrips. Never say one in my shop about trips 😂 that wheel looks sweet with those double drilled out rotors I like how chill patient and polite Mike is. He says he sometimes isnt patient but ya wouldnt know it. Respectful to his buddy too cause if youve ever worked with friends on a project and someone says," want me to hold it?" And sometimes the other person wont even say anything. He immediately acknowledged and said no thank you even while he was doin somethin. Yall are great like the Bob Ross's of motorcycles & by that I mean no disrespect. Thanks for the channel

A tip from me, 😀 for compressing those pucks , I use a cedar shake that I split or rip down the middle and tap that in between the pads and rotor one from end ant the other from the opposite end of the caliper. There are in a wedge shape and it’s wood so, soft. Works like a charm Thanks for the video. Love those rotors! 😉👍

I didn't redo the front end on this bike when I put the new rotors on. The fork seal job was on Camera Man's Dyna. Go to pacific mike on youtube and bring up our homepage. Then, click on videos. There are about 360 video with pictures. It's in there and easy to fine.

Mike; good video!! yes if my tires come off my ride, they get balance and I have been surprised, the number of times that have been out of balance. God Bless safe ridin rubber down
@DevilDog59Ай бұрын
That is a good practice to check your wheel balance whenever you remove a wheel assembly for whatever reason. When you do a wheel balance it is only setting the balance for that point in time of the wheel condition. As you ride the bike and encounter quick stops or if you are power shifting you are creating an uneven tire wear and your previous balance has shifted, due to the use of in place weights they do not shift the balance point you previously set it to. So you should always check your wheel balance whenever you have the wheel assembly off bike this way your balance is set to current tire wear pattern. Another item of equal importance is to have your tire pressure correct as that will increase your tires mileage. If you ride bike with a lower than required tire pressure you develop tire tread cupping and you can not undo that once it happens. The simple preventative wheel and tire checks will increase your tire life span, and we all know that motorcycle tires are not cheap.

Right on, Mike a quick question are those 11.5 rotors and if they are where can I find them and do you know if they will work on a H-D FXR Super Glide dual brake setup? Thanks for your time 👍
@pacificmike9501Ай бұрын
I don't know what years you have, I have late model fork legs and calipers. This all matches up. The late models use a rotor with a large center hole. All this stuff has to match up years wise. You need to figure it out in the catalogs unless you have a someone knowledgable in a shop.

My Shovelhead is not for sale. And, it has always stopped well. It came with disc brakes when I bought it new, 46 years ago. I learned how to make those early calipers work well. Then, I updated the rear caliper. Then a few years ago, I updated the braking system again. Lots of super stuff on this bike. Not for sale.

This may be counterintuitive to most but to go fast you need to be able to stop efficiently. Not a true believer in your front tire stopping patch. Just sayin'. Later my friend.
