Very nice result. I need to treat a dnepr 19L tank and will probably clean it out with vinegar first then apply this tank cure product rotating it by hand. Can't make such a nice rig myself. Do you think putting the mixed resin on a vibrating Sander (without sanding pad obviously) would do any good in removing some bubbles? How long did you treat the resin before putting it in the tank?

Hi and thanks. I dont think the sander method will work, i know where you are going with that and i agree on other products it would work but not this resin. If you have a look at the woodworking channels they use a blow torch and pass it over the mixed resin while its in the mixing pot or pass the torch over the finished resin table etc they are making, obviously blow torch on internal of tank is not an option, I was amazed how well it worked. It took me approx 6-8mins to get the bubbles out using vacuum and it still poured fine into the seams but i wouldn't want to leave it any longer, yes its probably good for 15mins but i would worry about it been and even coat as you rotate it. With the vinegar i would use glass etc. I believe white vinegar is best, good luck....

Dont disappear. The first tank in my other video was done by hand, yes it took ages but what got on my nerves was the air bubbles. It can be done without auto rotating just not as even. Its those dam air bubbles.

I would just make a jig and hang it from my workshop roof and spin by hand along the center line of the tank...

!stly thanks for the vide and efforet, its hard work. So you realized what a bad idea and product it is, then you wasted all that time, and energy, building rings, to still apply such a bad idea/product, even in a more permanent and different manner. as a You clearly mean well, and you more than mechanically inclined, you definetly have an engineering mind, and a great craftsman look at the things youve built. Im a welder, that went to work for dupont, hence being a little cluey about these topics :) The bubbles happen because of a chemical reaction, your not whisking eggs and creating bubbles. the vacuum you created caused more bubbles, you know this, hence why you dont show the resin when it comes out of your machine, but you show it after its poured, along time after it was mixed, and by then the chemical reaction has finalized and solvent gasses have escaped, that has nothing to do with your so called vacuum machine. I would call it a throffer, as its pulling the resin up, its putting air in it. Have you ever thought why they use a blow torch? Heat causes the chemical reaction to speed up before it sets, hence the bubbles can escape from the still moving resin, thats not set very hard. so if you built a machine that applies some heat, you would be better off, but even then resin in your tank is a bad idea. in hundreds of years, why manufacturers havent used, plastic or resin tanks? i mean how good would it be for them, any shape you want, cheaper, and rust free. do you think no one ever tried it? they probably did, why do you think they never lined tanks with resin?

Interesting view, now if so, explain to me why so many woodworking craftsman use vacuum pots combined with resin, do they have it wrong too? What would you suggest the best way to repair a line an original steel tank would be, you can not bake it as it would spoil the exterior paint and you can not line first and then powder coat because the resin would be damaged. You can not replace the tank with a new one because they are obsolete? Give this a watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKHUmWasg6qmg9U
