Your hair here is SO classy with the warm shade in. Even at the start of the video, THAT is gorgeous color on you, very high end and rich looking.

Jenifer, I know this is an older video, but it was by far the best highlighting video I have EVER watched here before, and I have watched a lot. This was so detailed including exact information about application, and times, and exact products you used and how you personally use them. I hate paying a fortune to have my hair done... especially when I feel that I am capable of getting exactly what I want myself....now I really can. I am sure I will refer back to this video many more times because it's that good. Thank you so much!

The little claw clips are genius! I’m rewatching this in 2024 it’s so helpful! Also I so agree demi permanent is it! Works better for me than toner.

Nope. Clairol Frost and Tip is the magic. THE MAGIC!!!! Clairol Frost and Tip is it!! Use as directed and make sure you don't wash the strands (yes there's a cap) until the hair is a soft buttery blonde. I've done this for years and I love it, it's simple and even my hairstylist compliments my work. If you focus around your face and crown brightens your face and eyes!! It's great and not so difficult as you demonstrate. And beautiful results! Buttery blonde, don't forget!!
@mikeandmom87975 жыл бұрын
Flutter Bize I like frost and tip also but now that my hair is longer, it's difficult to pull my long strands through cap..

What about the BASE color(ash blond)? My hair is mostly gray, so I'll need to color it first. I was thinking of using the Frost & Tip kit for the highlights. Do you think this would work okay? Before I turned old and gray, I used to use the Frost & Tip kit. What about the demi-perm color(toner) step she did at the end? Thanks for any tips or advice!

Just beautiful, Jennifer! It does look like you spent hours in a salon and hundreds of dollars on your color. I'm not the jealous type, but I'm feeling envious of the awesome results you're able to achieve for a fraction of the price that I pay for very similar color. The funny thing is, my hair is naturally blond, so I'm just paying for highlights!! You really understand the science behind coloring your hair and you did a fantastic job of explaining the process. Well done and thank you! Here's to your gorgeous hair!! 🎀💖🎀 :) xo Lisette

Your hair looks great! thank you so much for doing these videos! you showed me how to do just the root area where I was afraid to do that. So you taught me somethings in this, I can't wait to do my highlights again. I use the same Prism. I use the Ion sensitive scalp developer and then I add ION Color Brilliance Sensitive Scalp protector, its an oil that I add just a few drops and as your hair lightens it gets moisturized too. My hair never gets dried out when highlighted and your hair is so soft when you rinse the highlights out. I know there was something else in your video I was like oh, I should do that. So thank you for the lesson, it is much appreciated and I appreciate the time and effort you put in to this video.

+kathy price Oh that's great! I just learned something from you too! I'm going to have to get that oil! I usually do a deep conditioning treatment following my highlights. Typically I'll sleep in coconut oil! But I like the idea of conditioning WHILE you highlight. :)

Did you get it at Sally's?
@kathyprice16748 жыл бұрын
yes, I bought both the red/gold corrector and the oil. Both are small bottles back on the aisle with the hair color. There is usually a little rack near the end of the aisle on the shelve and there are packets of red/gold corrector,stuff to mix for gray, all sorts of interesting stuff. the red/gold corrector are in boxes with the bottles inside and the oil is usually right there with it. the oil is in a clear bottle a little bigger than a perfume sample bottle. you can order it online from Sally's as well, if you don't want to make a trip. And if you sign up online to receive sales, they always have sales info to send.

I think the idea of using a semi/demi-permanent color is an excellent idea after you've bleached your highlights. Your hair blends the grays into a very natural looking blonde as well. Your colors (eyes, skin tone, base hair color are VERY close to mine.....so next time I'm feeling "brave".....I'm going to try your methods. It looks fantastic! These 2 videos have been so helpful to me...thanks! My hair is(was) a dark ash blonde(naturally), but full of silvers and grays now(I'm 61). I always had the expensive "salon" blonde colors done every 6 weeks, but I can't afford to do that now. I'm planning to try this because I'm sick of being gray and frumpy-looking. The only difference is that I have to color all of my hair first(the dark ash blond)...then do the highlights. I think that the secret is in using the BRUSH...instead of the squeeze bottle. Thanks, again, for your videos. I subscribed!

It's definitely better at the salon but I think I can master this over time and seeing as it's so much cheaper than said salon, I'll keep trying!!! If you can figure out how we can die and highlight our hair at the same time, that would be fab. The 2 days back to back is a wee bit time consuming. Not pressing though. Still have to master the highlights and this will likely take me a good year or so. :-) Thx for your advice and suggestions!!!

I have been doing hair for over 20 years. Now I am semiretired. I tried to be totally retired yet as we all know you have family and or friends who show up wanting a touch up in their color or a quick cut. The Ageless Color Line is also a good line and not as hard on your hair. They have a line at Sally’s called Base breaker. In some nice blonde shades. Then also some awesome Demi permanent. Check it out if your interested. 🥰

Hey Jen, I had to watch this again, to be sure I know what I'm doing considering I usually use a cap and pull it through. I think you do a great job and I have to laugh when you say that someone would know its a home coloring job when they see your hair. Do underestimate yourself. I've paid $130 in the past and they used 3 colors with weaving the colors and instead of foils, they use to use parchment paper and it all came out the same color. The wrong color, a strawberry blonde, which I didn't want. Then the first time I had foils from my last colorist, she striped my hair near the roots and had to tone it and fix it and 4 hours later, it was fine. I think you do a fantastic job with your color. I wanted to do my hair today, I'm in North Texas and the storms are stopping me right now. Can't wait for your next video. Oh Sally's is having an online sale.
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty8 жыл бұрын
+kathy price I'm in South Texas and I know what you mean about the storms. We've been having crazy weather all day! I'm telling you, I've left salons with an inch of roots (as if I'd had nothing done at all), brassy colors, gray colors and everything in between. And let's not even talk about the hair-cuts I've gone home and cried about. Lol! That's why I decided a long time ago to start doing my own hair. That, and I just don't like going to hair salons. The most important thing I have learned is to always use foil to keep the product on your hair moist so it continues to process all of the hair evenly, AND to learn your Color Wheel! That way if you do come out with an undesirable color, all you have to do is buy a toner or demi-permanent color that is a tad bit darker than the color you are trying to cover AND make sure it has a 'base-color' that is OPPOSITE the color wheel so that it cancels out those unwanted colors. Good Luck!! :-)
@kathyprice16748 жыл бұрын
oh, I was indecisive and used the cap like always and screwed up, I think in the way I pulled my hair thru this time. Won't make this mistake and then I didn't leave the Prism lites on long enough, so I did have to color correct today and I use Insta Naturals hair oil. So I used a bunch of that to moisturize my hair after all that. I highlight and root cover in the same day, but not at the same time. So I do the opposite. I highlight first and then after i wash that out and my hair is wet, I my color on my roots because its made to use on wet hair. lol I guess I was due for a screw up because I haven't had one in 2 years. Live and learn and definitely learn how to fix it. My natural color used to be mousy blonde. I have so much gray now, that I use a light cool brown on my hair for my base color and then have blonde highlights. It's a good color for me. Except I'll be dark for a little while, until it washes out. Thanks for the good luck though. I know we need the rain.I;m thankful for no flooding or tornadoes in my neighborhood.

And you've really got yours down girl! Looked great. Here's what surprised me though....my hair is also darker in the back underneath. kinda med to dark brown, and yours was even darker. But when I used that same boxed color (Revlon-Linen) for a base, it came out very brassy, like ugh, almost orange in a few spots.It appeared u did not have this prob at all. Do u think it was because u have so much silver in your hair, or did u leave it on longer? Looked great on you!
