Pretty cool guy.Thank you for the informative videos. I have a bad leak that’s destroying my addition. This video is going to help me redo the roof. 🙂

So I know this is an older video post and I found some GAF liberty top layer, but not sure what to use for the underlayment. Could you possibly tell me exactly what I'm looking for.

What do you do when there is a vent pipe, what kind of jack do you use!!?
@thebrickandstoneguy3 жыл бұрын
Depends on what kind of pipe. Plumbing pipes I like lead jacks or if you cannot get that then use a witches hat and cut to fit. No matter the vent you want the base or bottom in between the base sheet and the cap sheet and use sealant as well

Do you roll the base down b4 you start the cap
@thebrickandstoneguy3 жыл бұрын
I roll both and I roll them both directions

@@thebrickandstoneguyyou roll them both same time or seperatly
@thebrickandstoneguy3 жыл бұрын
@@Brandon-no3vc put down base sheet and roll both directions. Put down edge metals. Either pre-prime part of edge metal that nails down or prime it after installed with an asphalt primer. You can also use tar below metal and on top. Primer or tar is to create better adhesion to the metal. If using tar go easy so it doesn’t squish out all over the edge. Then put down cap sheet and roll it both directions

@@thebrickandstoneguy wouldnt you prime with spray can then put tar on top of that

@@Brandon-no3vc one or the other. Both is not advantageous
