Sir, at 17:10 around, what is the function of the root like structure in the tank? So that solid dissolved particles get trapped there? So that they do not come out with the stream?

You were very right throughout the explanation, but you didn't describe why the velocity term is there. It is because we consider the Stagnation head and not static head.

Sir, you are saying that required NPSH is calculated as available NPSH when there is 3% drop in pump head with flow being constant. But from the expression of head developed by pump it is known that head is independent of properties of the fluid which is being handled. So, how is it that with cavitation head is dropping?? However, it is clear that with cavitation discharge pressure would decrease.. Kindly clarify May

Wht is the value of g (u used rho* g for converting pressure to head or head to pressure? Value of g is Specific gravity or 9.8?

As per the equation of total head : Pd - Ps, You explain that in NPSHr calculation, they are reducing suction pressure , So as per equatio, if Ps will be less to Total head will increase ? How will it drop ?

NPSH should be (Ps-Pvap)/pho*g. Pvap is vapor pressure

Why is NPSH is not applicable in case of reciprocating or PD pumps, while the suction head is tremendously high in PD pumps.

Some textbook consider darcy as 4flv(square)/2gd and some as flv(square)/2gd......which one is correct

Both are correct. There are two type of friction factor. Darcy and fanning. One is 4 times of other.

It can be provided. In fact for more critical pump where frequently strainer cleaning required there is pressure tapping in suction line.
