Your explanations and demonstrations are clear and easy to follow. I was not having success with skinner blends. I like that you explained that using leeched clay and using a thinner setting on the pasta machine makes for a straighter and quicker blend. I was getting bows so thanks for showing how to fix a bow. It is very is helpful. I'll be watching your other videos too.

If you go to createalong.com and go to shop, and then the Create Template, there are PDFs there. For several different techniques with my template as far as cutting the patterns, leaching your clay and using the template really make nice precise patterns

That is a great tip using the nut as a guide.

So cool. I’ll be shopping for an acrylic block today. I like the x on the nut. I put marks on the knob.

Didn't your Lucy slicer come with a measuring guide sticker to be adhered on the housing where the knob is? Mine did and I just use that to cut consistent slices of whatever thickness I want.

Great video! I'm looking for techniques that I can also use for fondant to decorate then pies. The technique is great, but I probably need forever, until I can stock a pie with it. And I do not have such a small plan cutter. Your machine reminds me a lot of the machines in a bindery. Only there is paper cut and it is much bigger. But the principle is the same. Thanks for the great video! I wonder if I can use it for pies somehow. 😉

How long do you leach the clay? Every time I leach it the edges get all crumbly using the same clay as you do. Then, I have to add clay softener just to get it through the pasta machine. What am I doing wrong? It's so hard to make precise canes with soft clay but can't get leached clay to stick together. HELP??? thank you.

sorry I didn’t see this earlier. I’m not getting notifications for some reason, you leach the clay until it feels like leather. Even if you over leach it if you’re careful and work on card stock after you cut it, you should be able to not touch it with your fingers. compression will help you stick your canes together. Also, after you make your cane, let it rest. Clay likes to stick to itself. If you start stretching it out and reducing it before it’s compressed and attached it will fall apart.

Found the block at hobby lobby for 6.99 - 40% off. So much nice cutting slices on it rather that the guide sticker that came with the slicer. Thanks

Denise Osborne I know ! The new slicer that is coming out it’s made from acrylic but that won’t be an issue in the future
