If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.

Great video Mark never done a driveshaft on a Peugeot but remember doing one on my fiesta mk5 on the roadside where I lived as didn't have a driveway. Cv joint sheard from driveshaft just asi got to work glad it didn't go the week before as I drove from Yorkshire to Northampton

Thank you Jason. Wow were you ragging it lol. Imagine if that had sheared at speed !!!! I had a lower ball joint shear on my Austin Allegro and that was pretty scary at low speed and very messy as the driveshaft came out the gearbox and dumped all the oil on the road.

I was trying to remove the drive shaft from the gearbox. Found you on KZbin and learned about 2 off set bolts holding to bearing in place. Un done them and twisted. them out the way. And it came out. All thanks to you make. I'm just filling the gearbox back up, then I'm going for a test drive 🤞

Mark, I have just watched this fantastic video as I have to replace the outer cv boot on this shaft but on a 2005 Clio 1.2 8V petrol. Do you think it will be the same set up, getting the outer cv joint off by giving it a sharp light tap with a drift like you did? I need to replace the cv boot which is SLIGHLTY perished in the folds but which the MOT tester said was SEVERELY perished which it isn't, but without resorting to one of those funnels to slide the new boot on? I realise you might not have experience of a Clio 1.2 drive shaft but am asking just in case you do and any thoughts you might have to help. I previously watched another video of I think a Polish guy completely knackering and then cutting the bearing cage to get the cv joint off the splines of the shaft which is what I don't want to do. He was putting a new cv joint on but this seems to be frankly a waste of time as you can get complete new shafts with new joints and boots quite cheaply so just replace the whole shaft would seem to be the way to go. Hope all is going well for you now. ATB.
@CoatsandGaiters2 ай бұрын
Hi I think most CV joints are pushed on or held with a spring clip on the shaft. I must say I have had poor experience of those stretch boots. They seem to perish within a year or two and the grease leaks out when hot.
@alexmorgan34352 ай бұрын
@@CoatsandGaiters Hi Mark, Thanks for your reply. Got the complete driver's side drive shaft out no problems. I separated the outer CV joint from the shaft, eventually with a drift and lump hammer. It was almost welded on having never been off in the car's life. But now got the CV joint off cleaned up and ready to regrease. Because I got the CV joint off the end of the shat I can just slide on the new boot without resorting to stretching it. The first one I got off Ebay was not tall enough meaning I would have really had to stretch it get it to secure properly around the sealing grooves on the shaft itself, but now got another which is much closer to the dimensions of the original gator. Many thanks for your reply and your great videos which are so thorough and clearly explained. ATB.

Great content Mark. You may encourage me to deal with the oil consumption on my thp. 😅 Unfortunately with the parts prices these days, its hard to justify the final bill for the rebuild. Even with own labour. Hopefully you will not give up and it would be great to see the cost breakdown of such a repair. Good luck!
@CoatsandGaiters Жыл бұрын
Hi Norbert sadly I agree with you on the costs so will only be doing a break down of everything to show all the parts and torque values. I believe this engine has major destruction inside and wouldn't be worth the costs.

Mark. I’ve tried to take my drivers side drive shaft out but it won’t budge. I’ve don’t everything you did except you removed the passenger side first, so do I need to remove the passenger side before the drivers side will pull out? Or is the drivers side shaft just possibly stuck and need a tap? Thanks Andy
@CoatsandGaiters8 ай бұрын
The drivers side does have a bearing that's held in position by two screws.
@andycusworth33238 ай бұрын
@@CoatsandGaiters yes I’ve removed those awkward 11mm screws so I think I’ll give it a bit of persuasion and see if I comes out, there was a noise I could hear when driving that sounded like a diff bearing so it’s probably that that’s hung up a little do you think? Thanks Andy
@CoatsandGaiters8 ай бұрын
They often do need a little knock and the bearings could well be corroded into the housing which could be grabbing it.@@andycusworth3323
