In this video I give you a tour of the Ford SportKa I have bought and go through all the jobs that need doing on it. Some minor and a few slight rust treatments. All in all the car is a cracker and look forward to getting her minted.

This car has an amazingly supple, compliant and balanced suspension. You can just chuck it into a corner and with a little weight transition the front just goes in leaving it up to the driver to keep the back end in check. Which I unfortunately failed to do so I have so sell mine. Gutted about it but fortunately people don't know how good these cars are so prices are extremely low. I am already enjoying the search for another one.

The wraparound plastic wheel arches and bumpers can hide serious rot. What appears to be minor bubbling can be the tip of the iceberg. These cars (the ordinary Ka as well as the SportKa) are the worst I have ever seen for inside-out rot. On the other hand, they are disappearing so fast, if you can get a half decent one and spend some money on it, pretty soon you'll have one of the last few left and people will stop you and say "Wow, a SportKa, haven't seen one of those for ages!"

Hey Fox awsome car , i wanna buy a sportKa as my first car and i don't found lots of informations, i'am asking myself : Is the realiability good ? , What are the commons engine problems with this car and how to be aware when buying one, i know rust is a Big issue on this car but i just wanna hear if it's a reliable car , if it's reliable like an Mazda mx5 or toyota 4runner i'am okay ha ha :3 . I had mega rust on my both sills petrol cap and rear wiper only paid 300 with 87k but it had sills done by previous owner so saved me a few quid yours look a nice example tho

Yeah. Off to the bodyshop tomorrow. Get it sorted then clean all underneath off, wheel arches etc and underseal. :)

Bad enough. They from inside out :)

projectforduk I guess was fixable though. If the rust gets to close to the rear seat belt mounting, for many they’ve been scrapped! Is a shame.

The seat has height adjustment. Not sure about the steering wheel.

how much did it cost to get the filler cap rust work done at bodyshop please?

It was a while ago but £300 sticks in my head. It was fully repaired and is still spot on 3 years later. They rot from the inside out so the body shop wax oiled behind too.
