Today’s guest is a total inspiration and one of the reasons I started a podcast…just so I could sit down and talk to my own personal heroes. And LEE ASHER is definitely that! Lee Asher started The Asher House animal sanctuary with a dream of fulfilling his life’s purpose. With nothing more than hope and an RV, he quit his day job in corporate America, and set off on a mission to rescue dogs. But his story started way before that. Lee overcame severe learning disabilities, scoliosis, a tumultuous upbringing, and years of being bullied by his peers. He knows better than anyone that sometimes you have to go through some pain to truly appreciate life’s beauty, and you do not want to miss a moment of his story.
Get the tissues ready, and enjoy PART 1 of our TWO PART episode with Lee Asher.
And don’t forget to tune in next time for PART 2, THIS WEDNESDAY!

Every year instead of blowing a bunch of money on xmas gifts, I donate that money to my local rescue in the name of my family. All of my family has started doing this and we just get together for a meal and visit.

Constantly cleaning plus giving love equally to all my fosters. It really is a rewarding life to help those in need. Why I love Lee so much. You have two angels always watching over you and as a Hospice RN it is absolutely a must to be collected and calm when your pet is being put down. I have been like that with my dogs and my orange tabby. Love you channel and adore Lee and his mission. He is out St Francis here on Earth. What a fabulous human being Lee Asher is. His perspective on life is so inspirational, his opinion that everyone has a purpose on their journey makes so much sense as so many flounder in finding their truth by allowing the words or actions of others to influence their decisions. His love of animals is truly amazing. Bless you Lee.

I've seen the first half of many rubbish interviews on KZbin, so this has to be by far the best and most worthwhile to be on. I listened to every minute (twice). Lee, you of course reached your goals 100 x over, but you also came back around 360* as far as being a great motivator and inspiration to many! Thank you both so much. I've been a big fan of Lee and Asher House from the start; now I'll be looking for more of Rachel's videos for sure.

With all our pets we have happy songs that we sing with them as we play. The couple of times we had to put them down as the last resort we sang to them and they seemed to perk up a little. Our last dog lived for 16 years and died of old age. she was too weak to raise her head but when my daughter sang the happy song her eyes brightened up and she was able to wag her tail a little.

You are amazing , my brother. Nice to here your stories. I can relate, my life has been alone. I have always had animals of all kinds, they have kept me not lonely. I prefer to be with animals. I am looking for a new old age future. I thought about fostering… but I would fall in love with that animal and couldn’t give it up. I am thinking about House/ Pet Sitting. I live on an Island ❤ a lot of people want to get off Island for vacations etc. my 16 year , 3 month old best friend/child/ pet is getting close to his last days. I need to find a animal relationship in my old age, to make my Life Complete, till my last days. ❤️🐾

You are so right Lee I said on the video where you were collecting a Grey Parrot ( is she the Parrot on you bed) the day 2 puppy's were dumped on the road. I did say I Love the way you laugh & joke not cry, lose you temper when you deal with things like that because you makeing the Animal Feil at ease ect . When I had to have my Beautifull 17 Year old German Shepherd Sara put to sleep 12 Years ago & also after being at my Beautifull Mams bedside for 4 days befor she passed away both times I held, talked about all our good times all the things I Loved them for makeing sure I smiled even sang to them right up to the Moment they slept away then I balled my eyes out & like you I'm glad, don't regret doing this no way we're they going to leave this Earth unless they knew they were Loved, Ile be fine so totaly agree with all you said

My first time to your channel. (I subbed). Thank you for this sensitive, thoughtful interview. Was sorry to hear about the loss of your dog then soon after, also your fiancé. But it was beautiful how you taught him to love that little dog, opening a part of his heart that was previously closed. And he needed that because he was about to face eternity and your little dog, having entered Heaven first, came running to fetch him and lead him in. (It’s complicated but God does things this way sometimes). I Have been following Lee for several years, his work is amazing, incredible how much of it he handles all alone. Hope he always has whatever he needs.

You are spot on Mix breed & runts of the litter are usualy the strongest dog live longer My beautiful German Shepherd Sara was the runt, lived for 17 years never I'll till she got Atheritis at 15 years old got Atheritis & the vet said the reason for this was because she had a bit of a small stroke after defending me being attacked by my Ex after a month she got stronger but was left with a little Atheritis, damage was done after small stroke & her older age apart from that never got ill

Do you show the pack the deceased dog? So they understand they are gone? When my best friend died unexpectedly at home, her husband let the dogs see & sniff her before the coroner took her away. I asked him what made him do that- he said he just asked himself “what would Willo do”. It was brilliant closure for the dogs otherwise they would have been waiting at the door for her to come home.
