you can leave the impeller in, still have the closed loop with the hoses and run the engine, not needing the bilge pump.

Great video, I have an Antares 760 with the same engine and setup and need to flush it. Have you got Part 3 to post with footage of replacing the heat exchanger seals? Many thanks
@shakyangler Жыл бұрын
Glad you like the video. I don’t have a video with the heat exchanger seals being changed. But there are other video’s of engines maintenance that may interest you on my channel .

Why not run the boat for this process? Great stuff btw you are The man for doing this

There are 2 ways to clean the seawater side of the system. The one in the video or pour in the chemical cleaner in the seawater filter start the engine and wait to you see the chemical come out the exhaust then stop the engine . That way the chemical stays in the system for 24hours to dissolve the lime scale buildup. I think the way I do it is better though .

Questions : 1: Is the only reason to remove the coolant reservoir to get access to the heat Exchanger hose? 2: What size hoses do you use for the TAMD41P-A? 3: After the flush, is there still enough juice left in the product to use it to flush the AC system?
@shakyangler2 жыл бұрын
I removed the coolant reservoir to mainly clean it (see part 4 video) but also it does help get access to the end cap of the heat exchanger. Hose diameter is 25mm ID on the heat exchanger and 50mm ID on my gear box cooler. I would say there would be enough Cleaner left to do your AC . I used all of the cleaner when I did mine but you don’t have to in one go. Jamie

Great vid. So just to clarify - the bilge pump is pushing the cleaning solution into the gear box cooler then the cleaning solution travels through the heat exchanger and exits via the pipe you've attached to the heat exchanger. Is that right? Just want to make sure I pump the cleaning solution around the right direction through the engine!!

Yes that’s correct. You can reverse the flow it doesn’t make a difference.

Hi there. A very nice video. I now want it to do it your way on my Peugeot Indenor. A question. You said for several hours. Do you mean that the pump is circulate the fluid for several hours through the system or do you mean, turn off the pump and let it stay that way before you use the clean water to flush? Thanks and regards, Ed

Should have used a clean 5 gallon bucket instead of a dirty bucket. Not sure if the hose connected to the heat exchanger is connected to the input side or the out put side
@shakyangler5 ай бұрын
@@JamesHerrington-y9d The input goes in to the gear box oil cooler and the out side comes from the heat exchanger that would normally go to the exhaust elbow.

Hi, does the impeller need to be removed? Can the product damage it? Thank you very much and greetings from Spain.
@shakyangler2 жыл бұрын
The impeller has to be removed otherwise the fluid won’t pump around .

It won’t damage your engine the chemical treatment.

Hey mate I’ve just tried this chemical clean I can’t get water to flow tidy it just trickles out ? I took impeller out, I connected to oil cooler then took pipe off that goes from heat exchanger to exhaust elbow , any tips ? Thanks
@shakyangler Жыл бұрын
It should flow fine unless you have a blockage. Contact me on my facebook Message and I will give you my number and walk you through it 👍

Really helpful video, thanks for that. Do you run the engine to get up to running temperature to get the thermostats to open before starting the flush ?
@shakyangler2 жыл бұрын
No. just flush from cold as it’s the seawater side that’s getting cleaned . 👍

@@shakyangler Oh yea, of course, got that. I'm going to flush mine in the next few weeks, I'll do it just the same as you show, thanks very much.

@@shakyangler Did you drain the seawater out before you flushed the system ?
@shakyangler2 жыл бұрын
Yes. drain the sea water out first .
@ultimatejay Жыл бұрын
Why didnt you just take the hose off the outlet side of the water pump and the hose off the exhaust elbow and run the chemicals through that way. A lot easier and nothing needs to be removed.
@shakyangler Жыл бұрын
If I am reading it correctly that way wouldn’t clean my gearbox oil cooler.
@ultimatejay Жыл бұрын
thats the complete raw water cooling system. comes from outdrive to your water pump impeller, up through your sea strainer, then down through heat exchanger and all your other components and then goes out the exhaust elbow. Heres a link that shows it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZqsq6CZhbB7r5osi=EE9oq5KHhsTPQHI8
@shakyangler Жыл бұрын
The link is very useful but that engine is a different set up . My water in let goes straight to my filter then in to the gearbox oil cooler then follows on to the seawater pump then after that goes around the other engine components before going out the exhaust elbow.
