Oh man, I've been waiting for this update. Been telling the guys in my local store about this but I don't think anyone's as excited as me about this story.

Hi Mike, great video. Question. Seems too late to get into vinyl beyond very small curated collection. Prices are just too high. Will the vinylinflation ever end.

Great picks. And true about blue labels. I bought a collection last year with mostly rvg blue labels, mint. Amazing how prices went up

Wow Mike, sweet pick ups, an unbelievable collection from an iconic musician and that incredible story you told about meeting George Benson awhile ago, that's one helluva great story and one I'm sure you will never forget either! Keep up the great work!

Do you always take the original inner sleeve out and replace them with the MoFi version?

Many years ago I had a George Benson 45 on the groove label I believe it was the cover of a Ray Charles record It was his first to this day I’ve never seen another one 🤔

Do you store your personal records with vinyl outside the gatefold/covers like how you show on these videos. Or do you put them inside? Thanks for the videos.

Outside. Just like the video.

I have Jackson Brown Running on Empty 1977. Side two lable on both side. lol is it rare?
@bobdavis4848 Жыл бұрын
You mean Jackson Browne label. What you have is rare but in this case that does not make it valuable. This kind thing overall was semi-common in the 70s.

Mike, can you please define “well loved copy”?
@Cripplecreekcarl3 жыл бұрын
Perhaps it has something to do with “nice deep grooves”…

Well loved copy = crap. Play copy = better than well loved but still crap. Evidently nm copies were neither well loved nor playable haha.
@luis6379-q7k3 жыл бұрын
@@OwlsRNotWhatTheySeem It is interesting that George Benson's copy of Breezin' on Mobile Fidelity is VG++ condition. I guess an artist doesn't listen to their own records much.
@SavoyBRG3 жыл бұрын
I met George once myself. I managed a record store in New Jersey for about 20 years. Benson spent about 2 hours there one day. Nice guy, although he wasn't very interested in talking about a doo wop record he made with a vocal group in his early days. He made this one when he was just a kid, in 1954. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6XLXmambM52n6M

Still puzzles me why records are stored outside the jacket at the back...i found it takes up more room on the shelf, I got terrible chaffing on the outer cover from adjacent records and the oval shape of the album cover gets disfigured
@TheInGroove3 жыл бұрын
Your doing something wrong. Try not packing them so tight. Enough so there upright but not so much that they are smushed.
