Hello, enjoyed the videos. I have the Epson pro stylus 7900 very similar to yours that I am wanting to convert to sublimation. do you have a process on this or is it pretty much the same as far as removing the old inks? I do have the refillable cartridges and I’ve purchased piezo flush but it was a tiny bottle 😅 Should I get more and try again? Do the cartridges need to be completed full like yours ? I’m thinking maybe that’s why my initial fill failed🤔 anyways keep up the good work and hope your wife gets well soon!

I don't quite understand why you left piezo flush cartridge instead of just taking it out?

If you don't leave the cartridges in the channels that aren't being used, you will likely introduce air into the lines and damage the printhead, over time. The point of keeping solution in the unused lines is that if you're running AcroRIP software, you can move your color configuration around to those unused channels, in case you ever experience clogging in the other channels.

How many initial fills will it take fill the inks into the printed ?

I need to make an updated video. My Epson tech has educated me on initial fills. They are very aggressive on the print head, if the lines aren't empty. I now recommend powering the printer on in serviceman/repairman mode, going to the cleaning menu and performing 1 CL3 (Cleaning Level 3) cycle and then following that up with 1 CL2 cycle. That should be enough to push ink through the lines without extra stress on the printhead.

Hey, Is it 4 whites on the right side for Epson 7880 also?

you can run 1 white channel and the printer will print full delivery, just the same as if you ran 4 whites. Running 1 white channel is actually better for the printer, but you will just need to fill the 1 cartridge more often than with 4 separate carts. Also, after you flush the lines with cleaning solution, you can dump the cleaning solution into a container and then replace the cleaning solution with distilled water, in your carts. After long term use, leaving the cleaning solution in the carts can damage the head to where that channel will no longer fire. I need to make an updated video.

If this happens, one of two things may have happened: You may have let the maintenance tank's fill up, past 70% capacity, which could prevent the chip resetter from resetting the chip or you may need to buy a separate OEM maintenance tank; one you will only use as a dummy cart, to trick the printer into thinking that you have a brand new tank in. Then, you will need to remove and replace the pads on the inside of the maintenance tank, reset it and use that cart, after the printer recognizes the genuine cart. Also, check the surface of the chip for small scratches. If you see that the chip is scratched, that may mean that it is time to replace the chip with a new one.

Have you tried the 7890 drivers? And do you know why they recommend p6000 driver?

I tried the 7890 drivers, but the print command crashes. The reason why the p6000 driver is preferred is because that model printer actually replaced the 7890.

Hi everyone, I been trying to covert my Epson 7900 printer to Dtf. But I have a problem with ink spill when power on printer and trying to prime the ink cartridge. I am getting ink spill inside the printer instead of the maintenance tank. If any body had that happened and how they fixed it?

your capping station may be clogged or the pump may not be functioning properly. There's also a slim chance; that the waste tube is disconnected. I would start with taking a look at the capping station (pump cap assembly). If you need parts, please email us and we can quote you for a replacement.

Thanks for watching my content! You would use cleaning solution in the black cart that the printer isn't using. You will need to look at the printer's panel and see whether it says matte black or photo black; this will tell you which cart is in use.
