Starting the simple learning DrizzleR without any electricity. Pedal powered for emergency situations. A pitty the mechanical work was so badly done; I have no workshop so I had to give it out. Bearings where wrongly centered and the blower wheel touched the housing. Much power and air loss. But maybe someone with better machanical possibility's takes the idea on and posts something.

Hi Luk.., because I'm particularly interested in wood-burning stoves with blue flame... (without flame reduction zones that produce hot soot, and as unburned - shines yellow.!) - your mini drizzler is one of the most interesting projects that can be seen on KZbin. I prefer constructions that do not require artificial support in the combustion process, e.g. electric current and blower. I see that you used a bicycle + blower - to get suction of pyrolysis gases from the inside of the furnace according to the principles of suction Venturi nozzle... (which turned out to be a problem.!). But the suction effect can be obtained by natural convection. Thanks to this furnace, you have all the necessary conditions to create a natural chimney draft force... (temperature from the furnace housing - which you separate with insulation.!). On a separately built chimney, an Venturi openwork nozzle can be made, in which the effect of sucking in gases and mixing with convectionally flowing air is obtained. The whole system is compatible with the forces of Nature - without electricity and fan... My appreciation for you and greetings Stanisław... (from Poland)

Dear Stanislaw. The experiment with the bicycle was done long ago. I tried also to get enough draft with a chimney but no effect. The under pressure from a normal height chimney is too low to get the gasification process started. I could have saved me the effort to do the test because a friend om mine, better than me in physics and mathematics did a calculation and it turned out the flue stack should have been extremely high to give me enough suction. Where are you based in Poland?

@@LukVanhauwaert Wow.., delectable Luke.., I didn't think you would answer that quickly. Let me argue about that. Of course - the technical conditions must be met to obtain a vacuum, which is to ensure suction... (counteracting the first convection from the load fireplace above the grate.!). I assure you that in your design - it is possible... (not necessarily a very high, insulated side chimney. You can not have such a small cross-section of the side pipe that releases pyrolytic gas. Other system that will provide the necessary convection for heated air. I currently live in Upper Silesia in Chorzów. Earlier I lived in Katowice for 40 years... Once again - best regards... Staszko... :-))) P.S.., I am currently dealing with... (as a passionate) - the subject of "Clean combustion"... (biomass, wood -burning stove - from blue to azure transparent flame)... My Blog-Forum... : czystespalanie.info I put your film in my "Bibliography..." (for Discussion.!)...

@@czystespalanie8096 Dear Stanislaw, Ourr aim is different. I am working on a cogeneration unit. Not a heating device. Cogeneration, Power and heat together. The draft is only needed in the beginninge to bring the temperature of the gasifier up to working temp, after that the cylinders of the engine do the suction. The blue flare is optained by filtering the very small charcoalelements out of the gas. They are somewhat coarse and could damage the engine. The flare of the unfiltered gas is slightly bleu-violet-red, because the little charcoal-elements are burning in the flame giving its colour. I liver in Lower Silezia.

@@LukVanhauwaert Dear Luk.., My goal is similar (to some extent) - to yours. The difference is that you get energy from wood in which you use pyrolysis gases for an internal combustion engine (after filtering and cooling). I prefer to obtain from wood - maximum heat energy - without any losses (unburned, tar and other hydrocarbons - which remain in the filters) - and avoiding reduction zones in the flame itself (by diffusion combustion). In the case of diffusion combustion - the biggest problem is the correct ratio of fuel to the oxygen needed... (stoichiometric mixture with excess air ratio (λ)!). This is when oxygen deficiency - most generate the Reduction Process - occurs when the amorphous form of carbon precipitates from gaseous hydrocarbons - as soot. It is mainly soot at high temperature, which shines with colors - from pale yellow, and with a decrease in temperature - through orange, red, brown - to black. Of course, if you use a strong suction fan... (or engine suction pistons) - then some part ash + incandescent coal dust will be sucked into the flame. Then these particles produce effects - which you described above. But when we act only convective lifting - immediate burning in the incandescent coal and flame - all (solid) fuel - and at high temperature - gas, then no hard particles are released in the flame. Only about 0.5% of fly ash (which escapes with the flue gas in the chimney). I also prefer cogeneration, but instead of combustion engines (powered by wood gas - holzgas) - I prefer to use "star" type steam engines (to drive an electric generator). In parallel - space heating, hot water storage, etc. Like you - I have long been pointing to a common error when burning non-degassed solid fuels. According to the famous "Triangle of Combustion"... (1st fuel, 2nd oxygen, 3rd temperature) - most often there is too much fuel (solid + gas). Add only as much fresh fuel to the embers as is burned regularly... (small portions). Then there is a chance for complete, perfect combustion (to ash) - both states of these fuels with a blue... (most perfect) - flame. Greetings - Staszko... :-))) PS. I watched befor already watched some of your movies with an extensive, peripheral layout. But this, your basic stove - is for my purpose - the most important. That's why I wrote my comment here. Look - please, at the proposed by me - use of energy from wood burning, biomass... : czystespalanie.info/piece/odbiorniki-ciepla/

@@czystespalanietv Dear Stanislaw, intresting site. Well I am pleased you like the DriZzleR mini. I abandoned the further development of the mini in favour of my actual system. I went the route of an internal combustion engine because a his readyness and easy avaiability. Scrapyards sell working engines by the kilo, and after you abused them or gummed it up by tar loaden gas, you can still get some money back by selling the scrap kilo's. Building your own steam engine is more complicated and also the high pressure danger somwhat turned me off. For your purposes a Sterling engine would be a better choice i think than a steam engine. Anyway keep up the good work. My development is going slow these day's because the school that made my metal hardware has closed down. i must find another workshop who likes prototype work. Hard to find, most shops are only intrested in mass production.
