Part 3 - Police Equipment Test / Simulated Night Pursuit Fun

Took my 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor to the race track after outfitting the car with the police equipment it originally had while in service and see what it can do.
This is the first time I've ever gotten to drive as reckless as I wanted to while running lights and sirens. I clearly didn't know how to make those turns without under steer and had no experience driving this hard. Still incredibly fun.
These cars aren't as fast as people think they are. They weight about 4,000lbs without any police equipment and only have 250 horse power. I outfitted this one with all the police equipment it used to have when it was in service, so it weighs about 200 lbs more because of that. They're 4-door F-150's so they wont handle like sports cars. I had a hard time keeping up with a 90's Honda civic SI on this small race track meant for go-carts.

I love the crown vics in fact I've owned 2. But the fact is the Taurus caprice and charger all handle WAY better than the crown.

Really any modern car. Its a 20+ year design so its really outdated. I'm betting modern cars cant take the abuse this car can though. They're more like trucks really not really race cars.

Don't know where you get that the crown vic is a four door f150 and I guarantee that all the led lights and siren do not add 200 lbs to the car. I'm issued a 2018. Tahoe and all the lighting,siren box,and radio system added 75 pounds. What agency in california do you work for.

Okay, you say 75 lbs, now add the weight of the push bar, brackets, steel skid plate underneath the motor and transmission, the steel cage/partition inside, and the solid steel sliding tray in the trunk.

I had a 2007 p71 and I kept up with a 2014 KIA

That was a modified Honda Civic against a fully loaded P71 weighing over twice the amount the civic did. That added with me being a first time driver on any race course I was never going to catch up. I was more distracted having fun than really trying to catch him, my turns were terrible at high speed especially on that first turn. These cars aren't that quick.

Adam's Motorsports in Corona I think. The track is small and tight turns. It's used for go carts and drifters love to practice there. Not the best track if you really want to get your car up to speed though but if you've never gotten to drive your car like you stole it this would be the place to start so you don't end up wrecking at high speed.
