Off-roading in a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. This car is extremely durable. Only damage done was some slightly bent steel rims that wobbled a little after 65mph but that's it.

Bought my Crown Vic back in 2010 as retired 2006 police car. I was warned it will last longer than you'll want to keep it. Still have it. It's an insanely well built car compared to what you get out of cars today.

You did not hold back. Landed the jumps like a boss. Chevy man here, and these were made to crave abuse. High speed tanks. Closest Chevy came to this were the Caprice 9C1'S. Both discontinued leaving the Cops with tinfoil suv's that are at their worst in any high speed pursuit.

Back in the day when a runner in a truck would get off the pavement to lose a P71 the cops would lick their chops, smile and proceed to start ramming their back end, much to the astonishment and shock of the bad guys.

Impressive video I know some departments do have light off roading and even the ability to go over a curb at speed and maintain pursuit. It's another thing to see one doing so. You might even be able to get away without the bent rim using different tires. Goodyear pursuit Rsa has with and without it and Nokian makes a few models that fit the 17" with aramid fiber reinforced sidwalls. Protects from both a blowout and tire from compressing enough to let the rim take a hit.

The car was taking a beating more in an up and down motion and in the front of the car. I think the inertia switch would have to be triggered by the force of a side impact more or less near the rear of the car.
@twizz4206 жыл бұрын
Sometimes people just bypass the switch to avoid it. Not sure if that's the case here though.

Well, that's certainly one way to find out if there're any loose parts. I've owned at least a couple of cars that I would have had to go back later and pick up all sorts of things... exhaust pipes and mufflers, fenders and bumpers... possibly even a fuel tank with one of 'em. Never had a Crown Vic leave me walking though, no matter what I did to it. And yeah, I worked for the local Sheriff's office for a while, back in the late 90s.
