Since there since to be a common concern among all 5 parts of the video, I figured I'd give my reasons for choosing the artists I did: ◽ For starters, I had subscribers chose what songs they wanted a reaction for by my guests. I asked for K-Hip-Hop song recommendations. I am not familiar with what would be considered K-Hip-Hop or not which is why I asked for recommendations. These songs seemed to be requested a lot so I went with it. Please keep in mind, I am NOT saying the artists are K-Hip-Hop artists since I would not be able to make the distinction. ◽ Second reason was because I assumed K-Hip-Hop was a sub-genre of Hip-Hop (just like how American Hip-Hop is). By going with this definition, I assumed these songs would be classified as "K-Hip-Hop" since it fits the parent genre of Hip-Hop. From what I can tell, there is conflict in this definition among viewers as well. Some are saying it is a genre and other say it is an industry/artist. I am still not to sure which it is, but that brings me to the next point. ◽ Third reason was because I asked 2 friends in Korea, and they both seemed to agree that all the songs I chose can be considered K-Hip-Hop. One of them does not like idol music or K-Pop and exclusively listen to K-Hip-Hop. He still agreed that these songs would be considered K-Hip-Hop. ◽ In the end, whether or not these songs are K-Hip-Hop is hard for me to tell. However, I am fine with you having a CIVIL discussion about this topic! I will make a community post in which you can discuss this if you want!

So, Outro Tear is a really special song. The lyrics are beautifully sad, and you should definitely check them out because BTS is known for their lyricism. At first glance it would sound like a romantic relationship break up song, but this song was actually written at a time in which the group was thinking about disbanding, and this song is about them as a group and an expression of their thoughts and feelings at that time. The song Ugh is about their anger and disgust over people who have wasted and devalued the emotion anger. The lyrics talk about how anger is a powerful emotion that can be used for change, but that people have become numb to it because people get angry over anything and everything, and use their anger in malicious ways to tear down and hurt others. The running theory is that this song was inspired by a series of suicides by kpop idols who had suffered a lot of online bullying. Ddaeng is a very clever diss track that makes use of crazy word play that is unfortunately pretty lost on English speakers, heh. The word "ddaeng" is used in like seven different ways in the song.

rap stands for "rhythm and poetry" so one would assume that lyrics are absolutely essential when listening to a rap song. a great beat and amazing flow is all great, but well-written lyrics make it a masterpiece. it's a shame y'all didn't look up the english translations of the lyrics.
@handlewith_care4 жыл бұрын
true
@k-popstan62254 жыл бұрын
This is actually not true. Rap is not an acronym for rhythm and poetry. This is just something people have been using as a term for a few years to kind of it give it more flavor, but has no historical context to back it up. To be a bit more accurate, rap is more of the manner/style in which words are delivered. It can incorporate poetic rhyming and rhythm, but that is not how you would classify rap :)

Of course you need it When it burns up there's always a reason Mayhaps it’s our history Sometimes it changes the world But this is not rage, this is excretion Which one is rage, you know? Pretending it's rage and killing, real rage Fed up, the countless number of people You’re not just killing me (you're not) We’re used to stepping on shit (we are) Look at those people who've grown numb (look) Excretion, apathy, you guys are a team, yeah [Pre-Chorus: Suga, RM] I go UGH! UGH! I go UGH! UGH! I’m raging at the malice-filled rage I’m raging at the malice-filled rage I go UGH! UGH! I go UGH! UGH! I’m raging at the rage that had to die out I’m raging at the rage that had to die out (yeah yeah) [Chorus: All] Yeah, UGH! UGH! Just go UGH! UGH! Until it all becomes ashes, yeah, go UGH! UGH! Yeah, UGH! UGH! Just go UGH! UGH! Until it breaks, yeah, go UGH! UGH! I go UGH! UGH! I go UGH! UGH! I’m raging at the malice-filled rage I’m raging at the rage that had to die out, hey [Verse 3: j-hope] This world, it is taken over by rage It seems that nobody can live without rage Raging, again raging, and raging Going insane, like UGH! UGH! UGH! UGH! There are tens of thousands of reasons to be raging Good will and evil will, all the very same I can rage, but if there were to be damage done To others' lives, I don't like That’s stop, ayy Someone gets hurt at someone's actions Someone becomes gloomy at someone's speech and behaviour Someone's spur of the moment becomes someone's moment Someone's rage becomes someone's life Damn, ptooey [Chorus: j-hope] I go UGH! UGH! I go UGH! UGH! I’m raging at the malice-filled rage I’m raging at the rage that had to die out, hey [Bridge: Suga, j-hope] Ah, what the hell is there to be upset about being criticized a bit? You earn a lot, why are you whining again? You'd have to put up with at least that much, ahem Ahem, ahem, ahem, ahem Y'all, ahem, ahem, ahem, ahem If I were the one told to do it, I would endure it all Y'all, ahem, y'all, ahem, ahem, ahem, ahem If I were the one, just, ahem, b-hem, ahem [Chorus: All] I go UGH! One of the things I love about these guys is their lyrics and word play. As many have already suggested, watching A Korean explains... by DKDKTV is really helpful to understand all the meanings of ddang (there are about a dozen), and the message about hate/anger of Ugh!. The word ddang is the romanized spelling of the Korean Hangul 땡. "ㄷ" is a "d" sound. You can notice that 땡 starts with "ㄸ". It is still a "d" sound, but with a harder emphasis. So not '(ho hum) dang', but rather 'D!ang'.

Please look up lyrics to these and any BTS songs you check out in the future. Their lyrics tell true stories and are so important, not to mention genius. Thanks for this! I'm pretty impressed with what you were able to get out of it without the lyrics! So yes, this is the Rapline. RM, J-Hope and Suga whose actual names are Kim Namjoon, Jung Hoseok and Min Yoongi. Yoongi also has a separate solo persona known as Agust D. He has 2 solo mixtapes out and they are both phenomenal. I would recommend "Give It To Me" and "The Last" off of his first and "What Do You Think" and "Daechwita" off of his second although both full albums are masterpieces. RM has some amazing solo songs off of his mixtape "Mono" my favorites "Do You" and "Joke" are amongst the best and lastly, our sunshine, J-Hope also has an awesome solo album called "Hope World" with a variety of genres in one album. "Hangsang" (which features Supreme Boi, a producer for BigHit who has worked with the boys on various projects including the Cyphers) and "Airplane" are more rap oriented while he has dance tracks as well like the title track and "Daydream" J-Hope is a rapper and a damn good one but his heart belongs to dancing!! Ok!! So!! Def also check out all 4 Cyphers, Hip Hop Phile, We On, Come Back Home (which is actually a cover) and Never Mind. But there are so many more! And most songs with all 7 members have amazing rap and breaks in them. "No More Dream" is one of their first songs and its all 7 and all rap. In the first performance, Suga was sick, he had a sore throat :(

You are spot on, even without understanding the lyrics... Haters got fiercer when BTS started winning awards and topping the charts. They were accused of buying their own records to manipulate the charts, plagiarizing video concepts and RM and Suga were accussed of "betraying" rap/hiphop for leaving the underground rap scene... I know, crazy right?,

You have to check out RM's Joke! (Tallest guy) It'll blow your mind and unhinge your jaw! 🤯 He made it as a FU to other rappers dissing him for signing with an idol company after doing underground rap before. Rappers who thought only about speed and less about content. But you need to read the amazing lyrics (RM's got an IQ of 148 and a writing talent from God 😏) before watching the mv cause no.one. can read at the speed needed! He owns them! 💜😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈💜

I was kinda dissapointed when u didint react to the Cypher Medley its a classic please react to it
@ItsDoctorAnime4 жыл бұрын
Due to time constraints, we could only react to 3 songs. Since there are 4 parts to the medley, I decided to hold it off until next time when we have more time

@@ItsDoctorAnime just the live Cypher medley...

@@ItsDoctorAnime Well all four cyphers and ESPECIALLY the cypher medley is worth having it's own reaction video.

I was really hoping that they would react to cypher 1-4 or at least cypher medley
