@@MindsetMastery75 an artist prominent in the 70s would probably have been at least 25 at that time, so that would be 74 right now, average lifespan is around 72, and they could well have been older, coupled with no one having been in the house for quite some time (evident from the mess) along with mention in the previous video of family having said they didn't think much pottery was in the house because they got it all that would strongly suggest the previous owner is in fact dead, or living in a retirement home.

@@ithraldharzul6887 Oh believe me that thing you said about nobody living in that house recently because of it "being evident from the mess". Nooooo. Haven't you seen that show "Hoarders"? That is how they choose to live. They live right inside all of that mess. I have actually seen hoarders even worse than her that actually barely have room enough to lay down because there was so much junk in their house but they still manage to do it. I am positive when she lived there, she slept right there amongst all that junk she loved! But you are probably right about her being dead. I kinda thought she was dead also. We inherited a hoarder's house, but they were super organized about it and hoarded for so long that they started using the hoard as structural support for more storage areas. We've been here 16 months and I've just now discovered the back of the utility room. Depression Era level hoarding is no joke.

This house reminds me of what happened when a friend of mine cleared out her aunt's house. The aunt was in her 90's, fell, had to go into assisted living. The aunt lived a "spartan" life and sometimes people from church would bring meals over. My friend was going to throw out a shoe box, decided it would be better to look inside and found the box full of money. Then there was the too-thick dishtowel that was two towels sewed together with money inside. My friend said, "...we lost count at $225,000". The money was invested and used to support the aunt and maybe also the aunt's sister.

I know this was posted years ago but some of the pieces looked to be done with the Raku firing technique. It’s used with a quick reduction process with carbon material. when glazed ceramics are taken from the kiln while they are still glowing red hot and are then placed in a material that would be able to catch fire (newspapers). This technique is used to starve the piece of oxygen, which creates a myriad of colors within the glaze. So the newspaper hoarding most likely was apart of her pottery.

Hi Adam, i wanted to tell you to NOT over clean any pottery you find as it is more valuable with the effects of the kiln firing left in tact. This is particularly true of pottery fired using primitive methods. As an art major from the dark ages (many years ago), and one who has fired pots using dung, tires, salt glaze and more standard and commercial kilns, it is best to leave the effects of the firing process intact. What may look like dirt might in fact be carbon or other effects of firing. A light dusting should suffice. If the future owner wants to clean it ,that is on them. Anyone familiar with primitive firing methods would want that. Thanks and I love your videos. Also be sure to open any windows or doors you can while cleaning. Invest in some passive electric heaters (don't over stress the electrical system without checking it out) and check out mold killers. Amonium Chloride is the best and can be bought retail as a product called Microban.

@@TheFantony my parents weren't as old as her and mom had forgotten some of their hiding places. (Dad passed suddenly and had hid most of the money. He didn't want the government to know how much money he saved. ) We (their kids ) did our best to find it all before the house was tore down but are still unsure if we found it all. With that said not all hoarders hide money or valuables. Some just keep all the junk until They are "buried " in because they cannot part with it much it like this house was.

The obituaries in the newspapers would be valuable to genealogy groups especially if the local cemeteries have not been documented yet in the Find A Grave Website or Ancestry. Some bigger centers have the papers on microfilm but the smaller towns would not likely have them scanned or have them online. I spent a week in the summer photographing each headstone of six cemeteries in Southern Saskatchewan and spent the winter adding the photos and names to the website. I searched for obituaries online to help complete all of the details - the trouble is that they don't go back very far date wise online. Even working on my own family history I was grateful that mom and I had saved obituaries from over the years. I myself would not want the work of going through those papers but someone local to that area may find them invaluable.

I was studying that WENKE AUSTRIA 1915 water bottle. From my digging it is a WW1 water bottle, but the clincher, I think the holes (front and back) is a bullet holes. The way the enamelling has been chipped off I think I'm right. A collector should be able to tell you. Because of the hole (bullet?) it should be potentially worth more than one in pristine condition.

@@ButterCupMMXXIII It would be nice to think that. The bullet hole (if it is one) went straight through. The way the bottle is curved (to fit the hip) I would say no. Unless he had something behind it, unlikely as they were designed to fit snugly against the body to prevent excessive noise.
