I know they are clearly marked with stickers, but one of the most common stories marshals tell is in the 'heat' of battle forgetting that E doesn't stand for Electrics. If I were you, I'd write FIRE on the handle in sharpie :)

Pro tip - Use a red solo cup on the oil filter once you've loosened it to both grab it, and catch all oil that falls out of it while unscrewing to keep oil off your hands. Little trick I picked up while owning an EJ255 Subaru!

I have a friend that clearanced his hood for an engine swap the same way. The V6 came out alright, and the V8 fit between the fenders just fine. It wasn't until it was all hooked up and running that we realized we needed a little more room right ..... HERE! (bang) and it fit perfectly ever since.

I once worked on a Cooper S in 1970 as an apprentice mechanic. The engine was built and sealed by a "firm" in Blackpool. It was driven by Iain Tweedy in the British RAC rally. I got a go in it with a temporary 850 engine in it and brakes as hard as a whores heart. Still loved it. It was Scotland blue with a Saltire on the roof. I can still remember it clear as a bell.

That's why I don't race. I very much thought that I wanted to until I realized I would spend more than $10k for the privilege of occasionally driving a no-longer-legal-or-comfortable E36 around the state on a trailer and sometimes tracks. I figured the same money is better spent on a nice-ish car that I can drive whenever instead. Such is life, I suppose. I did really want that race car, though.

It is a well know fact that the (ctrl-i) Système international (ctrl-i) unit of measurement of 'Bunch' is the collective term for some Bradys (ie. 6 or 8 Bradys depending on your point of view) As for adding a bunch of stiffness, Marcia Brady immediately comes to mind

Since stiffness is generally recognised as the product of the member's young's modulus (pascal or N/m^2) and its second moment of inertia (m^4) one may postulate that the resulting SI unit is Nm^2 (newton square metres) but that's a mouthful so I agree, let's just stick with "a bunch"

To put the airbag lamp out try using 501 gapless bulbs and straighten the tabs and fit to the connectors. Airbag resistance is around about 3 ohms as is the 501 bulbs and should put the airbag lamp out. Hope this helps👍 keep up the good work lads!

Done both and yes, slow car fast in anger is definitely the challenge. Maintaining momentum over a whole course is not as easy as mashing the go pedal at the right apex point to launch down the next straight. You have to use the whole course in mind, as long as those clods around you aren't getting underfoot. *_;-D_*

A good friend of mine "helped" me install some suspension components by shearing a bolt in the a-arm that we needed for a critical bracket. Drill and tap or weld back together? Captive bolt.

Can't blame you for asking about moving the factory airbox to the boot floor. I remember a time in Australia where cars had to retain all their options - including a/c - so some competitors had the a/c compressor and condenser bolted down in the passenger-side footwell.

It’s amazing the number of parts that can be found in a round bar near a lathe. It’s too bad that you lost the factory washers but those much thicker washers appear to work and it all luckily still fits under the factory center console. 😉
