Really appreciate the video. For the tie beams for our cabin build I just did straight tenons and pegged them. I like the added security of the dovetail tenons.

Jesse, forgive me if I missed it but how are the corner posts attached to the bottom plate, is that also a tenon & mortise joint? I live in the Texas gulf coast and hurricanes will carry everything away so we have make sure our shed and structures are tied down securely.

Hi Jeff - I haven't gotten to the point of attaching the posts to the bottom plates yet. We live in an area where hurricanes or seismic activity isn't an issue, so I'm not going to be able to give you any solid advice (pardon the pun). When it comes time to shoot this portion I'll see if I can find some better answers!
