The Calderon Protectorate has just kidnapped a high-profile scientist and is attempting to escape off the embattled world of Celentaro.
Splitting up their units in a desperate gambit, the Protectorate forces have managed to bifurcate the AFFS defenders and obfuscate their true destination.However, a lance of Avalon Hussars has just discovered the landing site of the Taurian Pride's Fortress class dropship and has been ordered to disable it at all costs.
In what seems to be a death charge, the valiant Hussars hurl themselves at the Protectorate defenses…

Awesome…for the tactical win. I like the story driven scenarios. To make it more fun and to ad a dimension have forces coming over from one battle to the next and give them a potential to rank up as pilots if they survive. And where not in forced withdrawals that is. But love the linked scenarios

To add to the realism, the units from the other fights should have carried over their battle damage as well. At least in part, if you are simulating battlefield / partial repairs.

The only mistake I saw Thom make this BatRep, was using the Awesome to put hits on the Atlas right after the Shadowhawk opened up the Demolisher. It would have bought Thom a turn to have the Dropship zoidberg off the ground, but Thom really pounded the targets throughout the battle. This was a really good BatRep though! Lots of anticipation and tension throughout the video! Beginning to think that Aaron and Archers, or Aaron and Cyclopes do not mix. This is the second BatRep where I have seen Thom pop the bloodbag inside of an Archer's cockpit(first time was when the Jade Falcons were fighting the Federated Commonwealth and Nicolai Malthus was cackling in the trees the entire time).

I'm starting to think that you guys should implement a stacking bonus based on how many times in a row the same side loses initiative. The Atlas doing what it does best: walking inexorably into a storm of fire and wiping out the one particular thing that the CO wanted dead. As brutal as this was for the Davions, losing a Fortress is a huge blow, probably worth an entire company of toasted 'mechs. Stranding the Taurian ground forces is a bonus, as the Davions will have an opportunity to bring in reinforcements, bargain for the Calderon surrender, and maybe recoup a major portion of their losses in salvage or ransom.

Great game gents, been loving this campaign. My only thing. Turn 5 was where the big mistake was made. These 5 weren’t there to destroy the last standing troopers, they were there to stop the dropships escape. Should have accepted the casualties and forced the dropship to stay low, at which point other re-directed Hussars could have arrived and put our. Tho I can’t say much, my poor Avalon Hussars showing poorly for themselves against some periphery dogs. For shame. Next time, tho next time.

Every scenario you guys run is fun to watch, but this one was a cut above. That last battle was like watching an action film. And that dropship is just beautiful! The Indiana Jones comment put that picture in my head... loving it. I wouldn't say if you hadn't asked, but I'd love to see a classic campaign, for old times' sake or whatever, with quirks would be cool. (I play classic, which is why I'm pushing this). Anyway, great campaign. Looking forward to the next! Classic, Alpha Strike, Destiny... whatever. It'll be fun to watch.

I personally love classic, and almost play it exclusively. Because I love the "Simulation" -ish ruleset. Alpha strike might streamline things, but always when you do that, accuracy gets lost. I like alpha strike too, and don't get me wrong, I love you guys, love your Vids and all the stuff, but for me personally I like it precise and detailed. I also use over 20 optional rules from tac ops because it makes it so much cooler. Though..a single turn with 2 Lance's on each side takes several hours. Last weekend I played with my buddy we neede 4 hours for one turn. But I don't care, cause I love the plenty of options and love for detail. A simple solution to your SRM "problem" would be using dozens of small, colour themed dice. Roll them all at once , sort the numbers, pally damage to location. That's how we do it. I'd like to see a warchest campaign on your channel, that would be awesome. Love you guys, keep up the good work

You need to start stacking a mod each time you lose initiative, we do in our local campaign, +1 to the die roll for each time you have lost initiative in a row, once you have won initiative it gets reset to zero

Man, what a meat grinder! I feel your pain, Aaron. I may have mentioned this before, but my online handle in at my FLGS is "Cursedbythedicegods". Sorry I know I am armchair quarterbacking this after the fact. And I do not mean to come off as attacking you. But for the life of me, I don't understand charging forward in an Archer to fire on the dropship (extreme range), instead of finishing off the weakened Atlas FIRST at the very least. Which was at long or medium range? I always try to protect my LRM's / Archer, but especially in this "kill the dropship' type scenario, where long range fire is the key to victory. Keep the Archer in the rear, just inside it's extreme or long range (barely able to reach the dropship at a reasonable targeting number) preferably behind the trees for partial cover if possible, and attacking the dropship for 4 per turn (7x turns at 4 per turn is the entirety of the dropship's 28 armor after all). While my Atlas soaks the damage, and attacks the enemy mechs at medium to point blank range. Preferably finishing off the enemy Atlas, which was already severely weakened in the first round of combat, then going after the next closest mech. With the tank moving up slowly, providing fire support to my Atlas with targeted fire on the same mech as the Atlas. And the Caesar doing the same as the tank, but splitting fire between additional attacks on the dropship and mechs as it's position allowed, while it acted as a bodyguard to the Archer. Protecting against the Shadow Hawk getting brave.
