$500 for rent is a godsend in Australia, you’d be looking at $1500 MINIMUM for a flat that sized, I don’t think all landlords are evil, I just think that there is a culture of matching other landlords rent to maximise their own gains. There are some who are not completely evil

Why tho? In her story she got given the house and it’s a huge place and she rents out one portion of her house that has 4 bedrooms and commodities for literally $500, to a family, idk if it’s weekly or monthly but in either case in todays economy that is CHEAP. My parents have been renting the same house for 8 years and they’ve been paying $450/week for 3 bedrooms 1 bath, and I’ve looked into moving out but currently even renting a SINGLE room in a share house in my area sets me back $300/week let alone a house with 3-4 bedrooms which is on the cheap end $650 IF UR LUCKY but mostly priced around $750-800/week

Now if she was renting individual rooms for $500/week that’s more unfair and I’d likely be annoyed with her but I would voice my frustration and hope she understands my point rather that throw away a friendship or relationship over such trivial thing
