Oh that third row is beautiful❤ I have the mahogany brown? the granulating one because I was trying to be frugal and make my own super granulating colours but I really am far too lazy to do it 😂 Kimberly Crick is a great channel for watercolour and she replicates many of the suoer granulating colours if you are interested. Have you tried any handmade watercolours? OMG you are in for a treat if you haven’t. I’ve not bought any English handmade water colours apart from The Art Spirits beautiful gold set which I highly recommend, and her crazy glitter set which is absolutely fabulous but unfortunately it looks to be no longer available. I have a lot of other handmade paints from other countries tho if you’re interested in names. For someone who doesn’t know how to use watercolours I have a out of control collection 😂 I’ve decided that collecting is also a hobby 😂

Well, I did try to make Supergranulating ones, when I already had a few and didn't like them as much as the pre-mixed ones. I have a beautiful selection of them!! No, I haven't tried handmade watercolours, but I daren't! I need to stop buying paint! You must use your paints though surely?! But yes, collecting is a totally separate hobby, and brings its own joy!

I’d say I’ve nearly half of the paints you swatched here and somehow I’ve found more I want. Thanks for sharing your dot card!

Brilliant blue violet is stunning and I am not fan of blues. It reminded me of wild cornflowers. I also liked the subtle greys and reddish browns. Thank you for sharing your love of colour with us. ❤

Some beautiful colors in there, kinda funny the Indian Red ran away lol. Really loved that mahogany brown; I wonder how the green umber would look if there were more pigment. The bottom row of pigments really impressed me with their intensity. Really nice video, thank you Helen!

Thanks! Yes - it'll probably turn up stuck to the bottom of someone's foot, and splodging round the whole house! I'm quite intrigued by the green umber, I suspect it's really useful. I love my Daniel Smith German Greenish Raw Umber.

The transparent brown looks like a useful colour. Mahogny brown is beautiful, I have it.

Agree with both of those - definitely want to get hold of Mahogany Brown. Maroon Brown isn't strong, but it's interesting too.

I love earth colours!! I’ve tried a number of these. From the “new to me” colours, Maroon Brown and Mahogany Brown are 2 that I’d definitely like to try sometime. They look like they’d be very useful for various landscapes. The third row does look like a great set of colours. So many paints, so little time…

Yep, I really those two as well. I've been having a major sort out of my craft and art cupboards the last couple of days, and though I have been accumulating another 'haul', I need to stop buying paint!!

@@helencryer Ha… yes… my “low buy” was fantastic for the first 5 months of 2023. I stuck to my goal and only used gift cards that I got for my birthday/Christmas/mother’s day for any art supplies. So proud! Then, in June, “vacation season” started and I felt that I was entitled to a “treat” since we didn’t have any big vacation plans for summer… that sort of opened the flood gate and I ordered some paints and gouache on 3 different occasions (including this week). SO… it’s time to get back to the low-buy because I seriously have enough paint for YEARS. (I just love the pretty colours SO much.)

Love the Mahogany!!! I am not an expert, but I could imagine that in autofocus the camera is trying to focus on the the movement of the the brush and therefore the color swatch is sometimes out of focus.😄

Yes, or on my hand or brush handle. I only film on my phone, and I had a look at the settings briefly before swatching, but it wasn't immediately obvious how to switch autofocus off. I'll have to research a bit more!
