Other youtubers mechs, bash too much these Lucas G parking brake system but in reality they help a lot by setting the parking brake better than a clutch type.n You made this look super easy Thank you.

Thanks So much for this! I am currently changing a Lucas Maxi at my shop; I've never seen this system in 15 years of heavy duty. Your video explained it perfectly and I have no doubt I can finish the job correctly tomorrow. Thanks again!

This is how many of us work. Thank you for not editing it so that everything looks perfect. Also it's very cool to have your girl there asking questions to learn. I have a gal like that too and she makes me think more as I'm trying to answer her questions.
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos2 жыл бұрын
Bro, that asking questions is SO IMPORTANT because just like said, it keeps us thinking, especially when we run into problems, THANKS!

Very helpful I will be referring to your video fixing my L8000 parking brakes.

A big job. I sure am glad you went with the new parts simply because of cost effectiveness. Should the truck ever be involved in brake failure mode, it would have cost you considerably more than a few new parts. I found this series very interesting. Now you have piece of mind for a long time. Well done Astral!

It may have cost us, but I do feel good about it as well!

That was a big job. I enjoyed all 5 videos. Where the old brakes the originals? The chrome looks good too, and you don't have to worry about repainting the wheels anymore. What does the pvc pipe along the side used for? Just curious.
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos4 жыл бұрын
Hey Victor, and THANKS! I'm not going to answer your question about the pvc pipes because I think it will make for an interesting video, LOL!

Forgot to ask Tim, did you leave the sealant to go off for a few hours before filling the fluid up? 👍🏻
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos4 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to the gray sealant between the hub and axle?
@northerner13744 жыл бұрын
Yes buddy. When I use the same item on say an engine sump, they say leave it for a few hours to cure to prevent leaks
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos4 жыл бұрын
@@northerner1374 There was some time that passed before filling it, but I never knew that because, like most of us guys, we don't read instructions, LOL! I'll have to read the tube for next time, THANKS!

What a mess! Looks like that fluid has not been changed in a few years. I think maybe Tim that I’d overhaul the whole brake system as the chances are the fronts would be as bad🤦♂️
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos4 жыл бұрын
it's a good thing the front is disc, and it's good that now the ENTIRE rear brake system is new!
