Probably most people are used to draw black lines on white paper. Therefore drawing bright on dark is not only an effect. Drawing black on white means your drawing and thinking shadows first of all, while bright on dark gives you the opportunety of drawing light, even without using darker colors for shading. Its a whole opposit of thinking like seeing shapes between objects as reasonable forms. Thank you very much for all of your how to draw clips. They are extremely helpful.

Wow! I’m quite, quite certain that I wasn’t taught this in art classes at school. It was as if our teachers wanted to see talent instead of giving us skills. But that was many decades ago, perhaps I misremember. I cannot draw 3D at all,. Nevertheless I started a 30 day 10 minutes 10 minutes art challenge. Guess what the challenge was this morning, hours and hours before I watched you video: Shadows.

Hello there! I've been loving your videos so far and I recently got an IPad and my hand kept sticking to the screen. Since I don't have a screen protector yet I was wondering if I should get something like the "PaperLike" screen protector or some other brand of screen protector. Maybe even one of those fancy gloves but whatever works, works I guess. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes you absolutely should. Without one the pencil tip will slide way too much and will give very little feedback to your hand, making it really tough to judge strokes. It also of course helps with keep your hand from sticking or slipping on the screen. If you get a simple matte protector you don't need to get the drawing gloves IMO. Just search the best matte screen protectors on google and go with that.

also i wanted to ask something and i hope you can answer, does the concepts app also work to make 3d figures? (like other 3d rendering programs for example blender) or is it just for drawing? cause it seems like its also used for that, and if its not, maybe you should try adding that into it, it would probably get more people who work in 3d rendering to buy it and could even get artists who only were looking to drawing to also get into 3d rendering/architecture or whatever its called i dont really know how its called lol

really great tutorials, thank you so much! i love this app and it helps me to develop my scribble skills. Maybe someone here can answer a question for me: How can I use the select tool, in selection mode, not lasso mode, to select a stroke and apply its brush thickness. Is that possible somehow? @Concepts App ?

Hi. You can change the selection tool from lasso to picker by tapping on "lasso" at the bottom pop up while the tool is active. Then select the brush you want to change, activate the color picker, (either tap and hold or from the color wheel) hover on the stroke with the desired properties, and tap on the brush icon that appears above the picker.

I absolutely love how Concepts feels to draw in BUT the lack of a fill tool like the paint bucket tool is incredibly frustrating. Also it's lacking a few other important things the I see that procreant has like masking, layer settings like multiply or burn. As a surface windows user it's been a struggle to find a fabulous drawing program to use that isn't photoshop or illustrator.

@@ConceptsApp that makes me so excited!!! Once they are added I will 100% buy the pro version. 😊 It would be absolutely amazing to have somthing really amazing for us windows surface users! Also, if there was a way to save the art as a .psd and having blur tools would be great too. Also, I have searched the app all over to find the water color brush and I can not find it.... but I would say a paint bucket tool is the thing I need the most to do what I need to in this app. Shoot I would go pro just for that lol 😆. Any way thanks for the reply and I am stoked to see how this app develops. Also my kids love using it on my smaller surface pro 2. 😁

Hi! No, but you can use the color wheel to pick those values of gray. Make a mark with each one on the canvas and you'll be able to color pick them like in the video.

What did you use to get such straight lines on the milk carton? Is there a ruler or something that makes perfect straight lines that I overlooked?

You can adjust the smoothing of your brush, the higher the % the straighter your line will be. If you check out our other videos about getting started using Concepts App you can see a visual demonstration!

Isnt that what is suppose to be? If you want to maintain your lineart while drawing maybe lock the layer and see if it helps.

I am so disappointed android and windows devices don't have Any precision tools even tho ive subscribed on both to pro version. I love the app but considering unsubscribing just because of the lack of features. Feels like they favor iOS 😡

Don´t buy this software for Windows 10. This not working, I use Core i7, 16GB RAM, SSD 1TB, 1050 Ti and the software crash ever. I use for 5 minutes very slow and crash.
