Part 5 - Rural Water Supply Drill - Catawba County, North Carolina - May 2023

In this first clip from the fill site we see operations as the first tanker arrives at the fire hydrant and prepares to self-load. No pumper was yet available so the crew had to use the available pressure in the fire hydrant to overcome hose/fill line friction. A pumper eventually became available and was used to load tankers; but only after the pumper was first connected to the fire hydrant. The fill times were cut in half if not more in most cases once the pumper was used.
