Hi.. great videos. I have just finished restoring a very similar 1957 series 1. And I live just north of San Francisco... you mention you are in northern CA - perhaps when you are done we could arrange for a drive...

Hello Mr. Foreman, I am enjoying another update on your rebuild process. You are making all the correct decisions. I do want to tip my hat to you on the coveralls and the fact that they are as durable as you have made them out to be. Love your channel, keep up the progress!

It's looking great! Inspired and thinking about doing another chassis respray and protection on my 57 S1. When living on a Caribbean island and close to the ocean, regular maintenance is a must. Looking forward to your next episode.

Greetings there Ony. Summer and myself have just come back from BVI in the Caribbean. Saw a few Land Rovers over there on Tortola. And I thought I had rust problems! It’s a tough life for you I bet having to live in paradise on a daily basis although if you were near those hurricanes a few years ago it might not have seemed too great. I do have a question though, have you any idea on getting hold of paint for these old landrovers? I know very little on that subject.
@explorer8888
@explorer8888 5 жыл бұрын
Foreman and Wilms Adventures If you are looking for paint codes, take a look at this page: www.landrover.net/paint/ Any local reputable paint supply shop should be able to help you with the paint if you provide the brand and the code. A lot of LR guys that I know in New England get paint from Providence Lacquer & Supply Centre in Rhode Island. They know Land Rovers, but I don’t have any personal experience with them.

the lack of oil pressure might be cured by stripping the oil pump and filling it with petroleum jelly as the pump wont prime its self on rover v8s and if its been standing it may well have drain out of the pump
@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures
@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures 5 жыл бұрын
I am in agreeance on your oil pressure theory. I spotted a little tool that goes into a hand held drill and slots down through the distributor after its removed to prime the pump. I might give that a try once I'm ready to fire it up. I have faith it will go again.
@CB1000FP1
@CB1000FP1 5 жыл бұрын
@@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures that might work but I had to resort to the jelly method on my stage 1 v8 its fairly easy just unbolt the bottom of the pump slap the jelly round the 2 gears and reassemble took me about 10 minutes

Great video, where did you source the replacement chassis sections from, about to start the same job here Cheers.Phill
@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures
@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures 5 жыл бұрын
Greetings Phill. John Craddock.com was where I found the parts in the UK. They shipped them over to the US and it wasn't too expensive. A rear crossmember, two extensions and two spring hanger attachments. There are some other options where the rear piece comes all together but make sure for what series Land Rover they are for as the series 2 has a wider chassis than a series 1. The next video called the Mud Room covers sourcing parts and may help you also. Best of luck on your project.

Dear CameraWoman (But I prefer the term 'CameraGirl' :) ), although short (a single "Yep!"), your dialogue was perfect, didn't require several rehearsals nor takes, didn't really need any visuals, extra lighting nor embellishments*, and was delivered powerfully with enthusiasm. "embellishments*" >>>> Ozzie bear, but I do hope you scored the coldest one. :) We sadly have been deprived of your treasured appearances here for far too long. And yes your wit as spoke and writ is equal to Mister Foreman's masterful abilities in that regard. Ummmm, Wilms, was the intro anim run a bit faster this time?, or is it just that I'm a bit older since #4?. Dear Mr Foreman and Crickitt, you spoke your parts well, at appropriate times, and obviously like playing with old cast-offs like plastic bags and rusty oily dirty stuff. But I suspect the sparkly stuff is something Crickitt shies away from. Excellent that you were able to obtain the awesome talents of a Master Welder such as Mr Garrett, who is not afraid of doing an excellent job. Thankyou!. Looking forward to Part 6. Mr Foreman I was impressed with your can work. Did you learn that skill on the WA railways and some shop walls?. But seriously I am impressed with your guts and determination to do this project justice.

You've got a keen ear to pick up on Wilmsy's 1 piece of dialogue. Garrett did a great job, I'm somewhat inspired to buy a welder and start learning by doing. As if there isn't enough already to keep me out of trouble.
