I would of killed for something like this back in the early 2000's. I had a 93 Formula, and working on that ignition system sucked balls.

It really has been neat to see the innovations done on the LT platform.

@@RubberCityMotoring it really has! I remember googling the Optispark issue and how to “resolve” them. Most came down to a vented cap & rotor or using the MSD Setup. Somehow I eventually came across the LTCC Setup. Would have loved to try that, but it was just too expensive at the time and seemed too experimental. The times have changed since then.

Morning. First off luv your channel. I have a 96 ss looking to buy this Torque head kit for my stock SS motor. Any suggestions I should know before i buy and I'm not a mechanic but I do know a few shops I have been looking at to do the change over. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@RubberCityMotoring10 ай бұрын
I would make sure everything else is up to par. Fluid changes, maintenance, etc. The torqhead is a neat product but just make sure your car is ready for it. Thanks for watching!

How is it working out for you?

No issues. Just make sure you tune properly.

On my firebird is the original ignition module on the left cylinder reused? With Torquehead setup?

Could i run the 97 firebird instrument cluster with the digital odometer in my 94formula with with the Torquehead pcm ?

Honestly not sure...

How long do you think it would take a shop to install this?
@RubberCityMotoring Жыл бұрын
Without tuning I’d say a day or two tops. It’s not totally difficult, just some steps you have to take to get it all done.

It was holding the tune, it was just tuned badly! I have it back and it’s running pretty darn good now. Video coming soon.....

So.... when do we get to hear it run? :)
@RubberCityMotoring6 жыл бұрын
Dude. I’m about to sell the car. Reaching maximum annoyance with this thing. Editing a video to post here that explains where I’m at. Quite a lot has happened though. Hopefully I get answers soon.....

Sorry to hear that. Hope you don't regret that. Maybe walk away from it for a while, come back in a few months with renewed excitement. Whatever you do. Good luvk! If you sell it, I would suggest posting it on forum where all the Impala guys hang out. Www.impalassforum.com

It’s all good. Just want it working reliably.... next vid will explain everything :)

Understand the frustration. Also understand the reliability aspect. Comes with the territory of a shade tree mechanic. If we were professionals, it would be much easier. :)

Totally dude. My wife said the same thing..... 3 years of this thing and I’m ready to just have it work as planned. Hopefully soon! Thanks for the words, making me feel better.

How much did it cost ?
@pontiacmaniac77724 жыл бұрын
It ranges 1000 to 1600 for a full kit with everything. I’m about to put my stimulus check to good use

Found your channel a few months back and loving it. I had a 96 SS DCM a long time ago and loved that car but traded it in for a Camaro SS. Just Sold my Camaro SS since we now have kids and picked up a 95 Impala SS for the family to cruise with. I am thinking about the torque setup but is it worth the money? Did you see any performance increase with that new setup? Keep up the great work on this channel!
@RubberCityMotoring5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Umm it all depends honestly. If your opti is running fine, I wouldn’t mess with it. I did torqhead for the reliability and also to ditch my opti. I just wasn’t confident in the setup. I also like removing that old 96 computer as well. It is a very nice kit, good customer service and a “fun mod” for sure. Congrats on the family and the ‘95! Thanks for watching!
